Concession Contract
A round table discussion was held on 'the advantages and disadvantages of having
one concessionaire operate both the Concessions and Stadium Club as compared to
separate contractors~
-1-
Concession Contract (cont)
Commissioner Glover moved that the Stadium Commission welcome competitive bids
on Concession operation and/or Stadium Club operation per specification as
4c ~
~ 0 .~ 10WS:
Ac Concession Operation Specification
B~ Stadium Club Specifications
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Currier and carried unanimously°
Notice Invitinq Bidders
Commissioner Kniseiy suggested that, rather than eliminate only one or two
prospective b~dders from the list of those responding to the Notice Inviting
Qualification of Bidders~ bid forms and specifications be sent to all 'that
returned the questionaires° It was the concensus of opinion that the firms
not fully qua!~f~ed for the Concessions and/or Stadium Club contract(s) would
automatically eiim~nate themselves after ~eceiving the specifications and bid
form by not submitting a bid°
Commissioner Knisely put his suggestion~ as stated above, into the form of a
motion° It was seconded by Co~missioner Currier and the motion carried~
Concession Contract Specifications
Chairman Coons had one copy each of a rough draft of Exhibit B entitled
~Inv~tation for Proposals for the Food¢ Beverage and Merchandise Concessions'~
and Exhibit C entitled '~Special Conditions"° Since these drafts were lengthy
and marked up~ it was suggested that the City Attorney's office give these
~rafts, together with additional recommended changes and additions, to the
Commission Secretary for retyping in draft form and submittal at the next
meeting.
In order for the specifications to be studied and approved by the Commission~
sent out to prospective bidders and returned by 12:00 Noon Thursday~ October 15~
1964~ the regular meeting of October 1st was moved up to Monday~ September 28,
1964 at 1:30 Po Mo in the Council Chambers Conference Room°
International Shriners~ Convention i970
Chairman Coons reported that contact was made with Mro Chester Ac Hogan~
Imp~riai Potentate~ and learned that he could not be in Orange County until the
week of October 4th and possibly not until the East-~est Shrine Game after
Christmas or New Year's Day or when the Grand Imperial Divan is held in Palm
Springs, It was further reported that the Shriners' Convention can only be
held in the month of July which creates quite a problem if held in this area°
Mr. Coons stated that if ~ro Hogan does come to Orange County October 4th~
he will be given a tour and a picture of the situation h~re as planned.
Further report to be given at a later date°
Meeting adjourned at 3:05
NOTICE: Next meeting to be held Monday~ September 28, 1964 - 1:30 Po M.
