ORDINANCE NO. 1771
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING
TITLE 18, CHAPTER 18.04, SECTION 18.04.030 -
SUBDIVISION 1, PARAGRAPHS (a), (b) AND (c)
OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
PARKING REQUIREMENTS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS
SECTION 1.
That Title 18, Chapter 18.04, Section 18.04.030 - Sub-
division 1, Paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) of the Anaheim Municipal
Code be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 18.04.030 GENERAL PROVISIONS--USE--PARKING
REQUIREMENTS.
"1. AREA:
"(a) For dwellings, parking spaces shall be provided on the
same site with the main building and such parking spaces
shall not be less than ten (10) feet wide by twenty (20)
feet long, shall have- adequate provisions for ingress
and egress, shall have a minimum of nine (9) feet clear
access to the abutting alley or access areas, and shall
not extend in front of the building setback line.
"(b) For uses other than residential, there shall be parking
spaces a minimum of eigt and one-half (82) feet wide by
nineteen (19) feet long on the same lot with the main
buildings or contiguous thereto, or within a reasonable
distance of the subject property, the layout of said
spaces shall meet or may exceed the minimum off-street
parking standards adopted by the City Council and in
accordance with the following requirements:
(1) RETAIL STORES, OFFICES (other thoi specified below)

(2) ICE CREAM STANDS: 2 spaces per each 50 sq. ft. of
gross floor space in building.
(3) DRIVE-IN RESTAURANTS: 3 spaces per each 50 sq. ft.
of gross floor space in building.
(4) MEDICAL AND DENTAL OFFICES: 3 spaces per each doc-
tor's office.
(5) FOR CHURCHES, HIGH SCHOOLS, COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY
AUDITORIUMS and other places of occasional assembly,
at least one parking space for every ten (10) seats,

except for regularly established churches in
presently existing locations on the date of
the passage of this Code change.
(b) HOTELS AND CLUBS: 1 space per each three (3)
guest rooms.
(7) THEATERS: l space per each five (5) seats.
(8) INDUSTRIAL PLANTS: 1 space per each five (5)
employees.
(9) HOSPITALS AND WHOLESALE ESTABLISHMENTS: 1 space
per each 1000 sq. ft. of gross floor space.
(10) MOTELS AND TOURIST COURTS: 1 space per each unit.
"(c) Where it can be shown that unusual site conditions or
topography require -modification in the off-street
parking area standards such modification may be
authorized by the Development Review Board upon a
recommendation of approval by the City Traffic
Engineer. Such modification shall be limited to
matters of layout and design and in no case shall
result in a reduction of the minimum number of spaces
required by Code.
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after
its final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.

and adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the
30th day of October, 1962, -by the following vote of the members there-

NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim approved and signed said Ordinance No. 1771 on the 30th day
of October, 1962.
