AGENDA ACTION TAKEN
1. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Balius called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chairman Balius led the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None.
4. NEW BUSINESS:
a) Draft Anaheim Parks Plan: Larry Pasco gave a brief description of the timeline of the Anaheim Parks Plan (Plan)
project. The Working Group will be meeting on April 19th to finalize the document and will then go to City Council for
approval on May 15th. The Plan is now available on the website for review. Larry Pasco presented the plan to the
commission asking for support.
The Commission had a discussion and asked questions regarding the Plan. Staff answered questions regarding
park safety, park acreage standards, pool facilities, the design and purpose of the Plan, overall recommendations,
timeline and funding for recommendations to move forward, the Park Ranger program, and park lighting. The
Commission made a few recommendations which were agreed by staff and will be brought to the Working Group
meeting; the recommendations included increasing the park acreage ratio, additional park acreage statistics of
surrounding cities, and the evaluation of park lighting as the trimming of park trees is completed.
Commissioner Cudd made a motion for the Commission to support and approve the draft Anaheim Parks Plan,
seconded by Commissioner Rupp; the motion was unanimously voted in favor. Chairman Balius accepted the
motion.
5. ADJOURNMENT: Chairman Balius adjourned the meeting at 7:09 p.m.
