Vice Chairman Schultz called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT -
Michael Lautenbach accepted Commissioner Tom Kresal's resignation and will follow-up with his
replacement.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Commissioner Schultz made a Motion, seconded by Commissioner Gaby, to accept the Golf
Commission Meeting Minutes of August 24, 2006. Motion passed.
ACTIVITY REPORTS
A. Golf Superintendent
Michael Lautenbach stated that the beverage cart had been delivered at Anaheim Hills.
B. Golf Course Superintendent
Dave Johansen stated that the greens at Anaheim Hills Golf Course had been aerified this week.
Commissioner McCulloch mentioned a couple of seniors had said the lake at Dad Miller smells
and has mosquitoes. Michael Lautenbach stated he would look at this situation.
C. Director Of Golf
Bob Johns reported there were no major changes since last meeting.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Commissioner Schultz stated that in reviewing the financials the golf courses seem to be trending
down. Michael Lautenbach stated that a big cause for the rounds being down was the heat over the
summer. Michael Lautenbach has heard that rounds are down at many other courses. A discussion
followed on how to increase rounds. Michael Lautenbach mentioned the capital improvements
should help and that improving course conditions should be the main focus. Michael Lautenbach is
looking into a new POS system. He hopes to have it in place by the end of the year.

OLD BUSINESS
Golf Course Improvements Update
A. Anaheim Hills' Driving Range Building Repair will be completed shortly. New range ball
dispenser is sitting in the cart barn and will be installed as soon as the range building has been
completed.
B. Concrete work at driving range should start in a few weeks.
C. Purchase order for the concrete work on the cart path on the 9th hole and the walkway to the 8th
tee has been issued. There is about a five week period until this work will start.
D. Work on the tee boxes will start in the middle of October and will take a total of six weeks.
E. The Dad Miller restroom repairs are being looked at by a consultant.
F. Anaheim Hills' short game facilities: Staff is planning to meet with a golf course architect to
discuss plans the City received four years ago.
G. Tree trimming: Michael Lautenbach stated they are working with the tree division on trimming
standards and ways of getting small sections started especially at Dad Miller around the 8th hole.
NEW BUSINESS
Bud Schultz mentioned that there is a big hole in the waste area to the left of the 17th hole. Michael
Lautenbach will look into it.
Bud Schultz also mentioned the kitchen in the grill needs to be looked at. He would like to see
someone managing the food coming in and out of the kitchen. Michael Lautenbach will speak to
Orin Abrams about this.

Commissioner Schultz made a Motion, seconded by Commissioner Wright, to adjourn the meeting
to October 26, 2006, 10:00 a.m., Conference Room at Anaheim Hills Golf Course, 6501 Nohl Ranch
Road.
