Chairman McCulloch called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENTS — None
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Vice Chairman made a motion to approve the March 27, 2008 Minutes as amended with
changes made regarding the new canopies installed on the driving range, not the golf shop.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wright. Motion passed.
ACTIVITY REPORTS
A. Golf Superintendent
Michael Lautenbach stated there are 120 players registered for the 2008 Anaheim Golf City
Championship. Michael stated the City Championship will be reconsidered for next year.
Commissioner Gaby questioned how many years the City Championship has occurred. Bob
Johns stated the City Championship has been going for 31 years. Michael Lautenbach
stated the cost issue will be one reason to reconsider the tournament for next year. Vice
Chairman Schultz stated the City Championship has changed over the years and the cost is
significant compared to what is received.
Michael Lautenbach stated the budget will be included in next month's Golf Commission
meeting Agenda.
Commissioner Wright questioned the advertisement of the golf course packages at the
Garden Grove Sheraton Hotel. Michael Lautenbach stated this will be free advertising of the
golf courses at the hotel.
Commissioner Wright questioned the status of the Pace -of -Play forms. Michael Lautenbach
stated forms are currently printed.
B. Golf Course Superintendent
Dave Johansen presented his report. Dave Johansen stated preparation for the City
Championship is almost complete.

Bob Johns presented his report and answered questions.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Michael Lautenbach stated March was a pretty good month. Michael stated rounds increased
at Anaheim Hills Golf Course and decreased at Dad Miller Golf Course. Michael also stated
revenue of green fees increased at both golf courses. Michael stated restaurant revenues
decreased, and merchandise sales increased. Michael Lautenbach stated April is looking good.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Golf Course Improvement Update
Michael Lautenbach stated the job walk for the Dad Miller clubhouse restroom repairs took
place on April 16, 2008. Michael stated 11 consultants attended the mandatory job walk.
Michael stated bids are due May 7, 2008.
Michael Lautenbach stated tree trimming at Dad Miller Golf Course is entirely completed.
Michael Lautenbach stated six (6) golf course architect firms attended the job walk for the
Master Plan at Anaheim Hills Golf Course. Michael stated proposals are due on May 9,
2008.
Michael Lautenbach stated City staff is awaiting feedback from Anaheim Union High School
District staff regarding the Dad Miller Golf Course 10th hole project.
Michael Lautenbach stated the construction of the structure to cover the new pump station
at Dad Miller Golf course will begin on April 28, 2008.
Michael Lautenbach stated the plant material for additional landscaping by the driving range
at Dad Miller Golf Course has been ordered.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Golf Commission Outing Dates
Michael Lautenbach presented the 2008 meeting calendar to include two (2) golf outing
dates. Michael stated the two outings will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at 10:00 a.m.
at Anaheim Hills Golf Course, and on Thursday, September 25, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Dad
Miller Golf Course. Commissioner Keys made a Motion, seconded by Commissioner Gaby,
to approve the two outing dates.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman McCulloch made a Motion, seconded by Vice Chairman Schultz, to adjourn the
meeting to May 22, 2008 at 10 a.m., at Anaheim Hills Golf Course. The Motion passed. There
being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:31 p.m.
