Vice Chairman Bud Schultz called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENTS — None
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Commissioner Wright made a Motion to approve the July 24, 2008 Minutes. Minutes were not
approved as Commissioner Gaby was not present at this meeting. Approval of Minutes will be
deferred to September 25, 2008 meeting.
ACTIVITY REPORTS
A. Golf Superintendent
Michael Lautenbach presented his report and answered questions.
Vice Chairman Schultz requested a mirror to be installed on #4 tee box at Anaheim Hills
Golf Course. Michael Lautenbach stated he will look into it.
Commissioner Wright questioned the role and duties of the Golf Commission. Terry Lowe,
City of Anaheim Director of Community Services, stated the City Council selects who the
Commissioners are to represent the population at large. Terry Lowe explained the role of
Commissions in the City of Anaheim and this Commission is an advisory board.
B. Golf Course Superintendent
Dave Johansen presented his report.
C. Director of Golf
Bob Johns presented his report. Bob stated additional canopies were installed at the Dad
Miller driving range.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Michael Lautenbach stated July was another tough month for the golf courses. Michael stated a
decrease of rounds is most likely due to economic factors. Michael stated food and beverage
revenues decreased dramatically with fewer corporate functions. Michael Lautenbach stated
green fee revenues were close to prior year.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Golf Course Improvement Update
Michael Lautenbach stated the Dad Miller Clubhouse restroom renovation is scheduled to
begin early September and should be completed by the middle of October.
Michael Lautenbach stated the agreement for the Master Plan at Anaheim Hills Golf Course
has been finalized.
Michael Lautenbach stated the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of
Anaheim and the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD) has been mailed to the
school district for review. Vice Chairman Schultz questioned the cost of the project. Michael
Lautenbach stated the estimated cost is $130,000.
Michael Lautenbach stated he is waiting for a quote for the monitor storage box on the 6th
hole at Anaheim Hills Golf Course. Vice Chairman Schultz questioned if the camera is
necessary and stated the GPS system should help players `see' the golfers in front. Michael
Lautenbach stated the GPS system has a 30 -second delay and the camera is great visual
help.
Michael Lautenbach stated a new version of the Point -of -Sale system will be introduced in
two (2) weeks. Michael stated some problematic issues with the current system were
resolved.
Michael Lautenbach stated he met with the range system company to discuss the possibility
of networking the systems between the two golf courses. Range Servant is working on this
solution.
Michael Lautenbach stated he met with a company to install a ready built restroom facility on
the golf course at Anaheim Hills. Michael stated a 60 -ton crane would need to access the
golf course to lower the building in place. Michael Lautenbach stated this would cause too
much damage to the golf course and therefore, staff is looking into other options to upgrade
the existing restroom facilities.
Michael Lautenbach stated staff is working with the original electrical contractor on lighting
system issues in the Anaheim Hills clubhouse.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Nomination of Chairman and Vice Chairman
Commissioner Wright made a Motion to postpone nomination of Chairman and Vice
Chairman to September 25, 2008 meeting. The Motion was seconded by Commissioner
Gaby. Motion passed.
B. Anaheim Hills Master Plan Golf Course Architect Presentation
Michael Lautenbach introduced Casey O'Callaghan as the architect chosen for the Master
Plan of Anaheim Hills Golf Course.
Casey O'Callaghan, owner of Casey O'Callaghan Golf Course Design, Inc., made a
presentation on the Anaheim Hills Master Plan and answered questions.
ADJOURNMENT
Vice Chairman Schultz made a Motion, seconded by Commissioner Gaby, to adjourn the
meeting to September 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., at Dad Miller Golf Course, Clubhouse Banquet
Room. The Motion passed. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:30
p. M.
