Chairman McCulloch called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENTS — None
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Commissioner Keys made a Motion to approve the June 26, 2008 Minutes. The motion was
seconded by Vice Chairman Bud Schultz. Motion passed.
ACTIVITY REPORTS
A. Golf Superintendent
Michael Lautenbach presented his report and answered questions.
Vice Chairman Schultz questioned if ball machines will work together at both golf courses if
Dad Miller Golf Course and Anaheim Hills Golf Course are networked through the same
switches. Michael Lautenbach stated Range Servant is looking into this option but it is not
available yet.
Michael Lautenbach stated the filter of the irrigation pump station at Anaheim Hills Golf
Course will need replacement. Michael stated this has an estimated cost of $30,000.
Vice Chairman Schultz questioned the status on the golf marshal program with the new
pace -of -play forms. Michael Lautenbach stated Neil McKay, the lead marshal, is working
individually with each marshal to better the program. Michael stated the new program
continues to be work in progress.

B. Golf Course Superintendent
Dave Johansen presented his report. Dave stated a water audit is being completed at both
golf courses. Dave stated the audit is part of a program, in conjunction with the Metropolitan
Water District, which will offer to modernize and better the efficiency of the irrigation system.
Vice Chairman Schultz questioned the status of the greens at Anaheim Hills Golf Course.
Dave Johansen stated he is working with Todd Shank of Valley Crest to improve the greens
by lowering the cut height and continued verticutting.
C. Director of Golf
Bob Johns presented his report. Bob stated problems have occurred between the computer
system and the ball machine at Dad Miller Golf Course. Bob Johns stated new antennae
were installed and computer system is working much better.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Michael Lautenbach stated June was a tough month. Michael stated rounds, gross revenues,
food and beverage revenues, green fees, and merchandise sales were all down.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Golf Course Improvement Update
Michael Lautenbach stated the bid for the Dad Miller Clubhouse restroom was approved by
the City Council on June 24, 2008. Michael stated the project will be completed within 30
days after materials arrive at golf course. Michael Lautenbach stated the project is
estimated to be complete by the end of September.
Michael Lautenbach reported the fiber optic cable installation was completed at Dad Miller
Golf Course. Michael stated the required switches will be installed in the next few weeks.
Michael Lautenbach stated he was looking into options for a new phone system for Dad
Miller.
Michael Lautenbach reported staff is working on a restroom drain issue by the 7th tee box at
Dad Miller Golf Course. Michael stated 180 feet of sewer drainage will need to be replaced.
Michael Lautenbach stated this has an estimated cost of $9,000410,000.
Vice Chairman Schultz questioned the status of moving the 10th tee box at Dad Miller Golf
Course. Michael Lautenbach stated the City and the Anaheim Union High School District
are finalizing the Memorandum of Understanding.
Michael Lautenbach stated the contract with a golf course architect for the Master Plan at
Anaheim Hills Golf Course is still in the works.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Tee Time Reservation Policies
Michael Lautenbach stated the City would like to see an increase of public usage on the City
website. Michael stated the internet booking feature on the golf website has low usage.
Vice Chairman Schultz stated better navigation and a visible link to the golf website on the
City's website would help increase public usage.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman McCulloch made a Motion, seconded by Vice Chairman Schultz, to adjourn the
meeting to August 28, 2008 at 5 p.m., at Anaheim Hills Golf Course, Clubhouse Board Room.
The Motion passed. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
