OF NOVEMBER 28, 2017
The special meeting of November 28, 2017 was called to order at 2:34 P.M. in the chambers of
Anaheim City Hall, located at 200 S. Anaheim Boulevard. The meeting notice, agenda, and
related materials were duly posted on November 22, 2017.
PRESENT: Mayor Tom Tait and Council Members: James Vanderbilt, Denise Barnes,
Jose F. Moreno, Lucille Kring, and Stephen Faessel.
ABSENT: Council Member Kris Murray
STAFF PRESENT: Acting City Clerk Theresa Bass
ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO CLOSED SESSION: None
PUBLIC COMMENTS ON CLOSED SESSION ITEMS:
William Fitzgerald, Home Owners Maintaining Our Environment, referenced an article in the
September 24th edition of the Los Angeles Times and opined that each Council Member would
receive a tax-free stipend for this short meeting, with a total cost of the meeting exceeding
$10,000. He commented on the current Acting City Attorney and offered his belief that Council
would appoint an incompetent person to the permanent position with an overpaid salary and a
large future pension.
CLOSED SESSION — SPECIAL MEETING
At 2:37 P.M., Mayor Tait recessed to Closed Session (City Hall, 7th Floor) for consideration of the
following items, noting Council would reconvene the meeting on the 7th floor to record any report
from closed session:
1. CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS (Government Code Section 54957.6)

Avery Associates

2. PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT (Government Code Section 54957)
Title: City Attorney
At 5:06 P.M., council returned from closed session.

Mayor Tait adjourned the closed session special meeting of November 28, 2017 at 5:06 P.M.
