A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO
SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM TO THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY
(OTS), FOR THE CALI3'ORNIA SEAT BELT COMPLIANCE
CAMPAIGN (CSBCC)
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim wishes to participate in the Office of Traffic Safety's
(OTS) California Seat Belt Compliance Campaign (CSBCC) for enforcement of seat belt laws;
and
WHEREAS, the OTS CSBCC program makes mini-grant funds available to local law
enforcement agencies to enforce seat belt laws over a two-week period from November 17th
through November 30th, 2003, including the Thanksgiving holiday; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, Anaheim Police Department, wishes to apply for
CSBCC mini-grant funding to encourage public safety practices by enforcing the seat belt laws
during this two-week period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as
follows:
The Chief of Police of the City of Anaheim is hereby authorized, on behalf of the
City of Anaheim, to submit a grant application to the Office of Traffic Safety for the
California Seat Belt Compliance Campaign, and to execute on behalf of the City of
Anaheim, all required grant documents, including any extensions and amendments
thereof.
2. The City of Anaheim is eligible to apply for $50,000, based on population served,
with no matching fund requirements.

The grant funds received hereunder shall be used to supplement, not supplant, the
Police Department's overtime budget to provide public safety practices with the
enforcement of the seat belt laws.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
