1378ORDINANCE NO-. 1378
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING
THE TRANSFER OF ALL EXISTING MONIES HELD IN THE
DEPOSITORS? TRUST FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND PROVIDING FOR THE FILING
OF CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY FOR THE RETURN OF
THESE FUNDS TO INDIVIDUALS ESTABLISHING THEIR.
RIGHT TO SAID FUNDS.
WHEREAS, Section 7400.14 of the Anaheim Municipal Code
requires customers of the Cityts utility services to make advance
deposits for said service with the accounting division of the
City; and
WHEREAS, it has been the practice of the City of Ana-
heim to maintain a special fund entitled "Depositorst Trust -Fund",
as the depository of said deposits; and
WHEREAS, this practice has proven, over the years, to
be uneconomical and cumbersome to administer; and
WHEREAS, it is the aim of the City of Anaheim to accom-
plish the most efficient and economical administration of city
government for the benefit of the people;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l:
All monies held in the City of Anaheim fund entitled
"Depositors' Trust Fund", be, and the same are hereby, transferred
to the General Fund.of the City of Anaheim®
SECTION 2:
Any person having a claim for money against the City
resulting from the placing of a deposit with the City for utility
services or advanced deposits for other purposes may file a claim
against the City for said deposit or deposit balance with the
Finance Director of the City on the form provided by said Finance
Director, requesting the refund of said deposit or deposit balance.
SECTION 3:
The Finance Director shall honor said application for
refund upon presentation to the Finance Director at any time during
the regular business hours of 'the City within a one-year period
after the effective date of this ordinance.
SECTION
The City shall not be required to refund any advanced
deposit balance where the cost to the City for processing any
above -said claim, which is herewith determined to be 50�, exceeds
said advance deposit balance.
SECTION 5:
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once within

fifteen (15) days frons and after its adoption in the Anaheim
Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published
-� and circulated in the City of Anaheim, and thirty (30) days from
and after its final passage it shall be in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me
this 25th day of August, 1959.

Anaheim, held on. the 18th day of August, 1959, and that the same
was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council
held on the 25th day of August, 1959, by the following vote of
the members thereof.

Schutte.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim approved and signed said Ordinance on the 25th day of
August, 1959.
