A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING POLICY 1.6 OF THE
CITY COUNCIL POLICY MANUAL RELATING TO THE MANNER
IN WHICH MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL MAY PLACE MATTERS
ON THE AGENDA OF A REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2017-041
WHEREAS, by Resolution 2017-041, the City Council amended City Council Policy 1.6
entitled "City Council Regular Meeting Agenda Setting" to the City Council Policy Manual; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to amend the City Council Policy Manual to
amend City Council Policy 1.6 with regard to the manner in which the members of the City
Council may place items on a regular City Council meeting agenda.
WHEREAS, this Resolution will supersede Resolution No. 2017-041 adopted on
February 28, 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. Policy No. 1.6 entitled "City Council Regular Meeting Agenda Setting" is
hereby deleted in its entirety from the City Council Policy Manual and replaced with the
following:
"Any member of the City Council may, during the City Council Communications portion
of a City Council meeting, request that an item be placed on a future City Council regular
meeting agenda. The requested item will be placed on a future City Council regular
meeting agenda as long as at least two other Councilmembers express their support of the
request. The request shall not be open for debate or discussion and the expression of the
other Councilmembers' support shall be made informally by show of hands or otherwise.
The Mayor shall have the authority to place an item on a future agenda either during or
outside of an open City Council meeting through the City Manager's Office."
Section 2. Resolution No. 2017-041 is hereby rescinded in its entirety.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.

Faessel, and O'Neil

Brandman.
