1. CALL TO ORDER: Chair Hamida called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Daniels.
3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: The following guests introduced themselves and gave a brief history of
their relation to the Tongva tribe: Frank Garcia, Jeffrey Marshall-Wermy, Johnny Volkou, Mazatl Tepehyoldtzin, and
Lazaro Arriza, Jr. Chair Hamida requested for the guests to provide a formal presentation with more detailed information
about their tribes at the next Commission meeting.
4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: None.
5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Hamida presented the December 20, 2018 minutes to the Commissioners for
changes or corrections. Commissioner Daniels requested for the minutes to be amended on the Adjournment section to:
“Vice Chair Chuchua adjourned the meeting at 7:23 p.m.” Commissioner Daniels made a motion to approve the minutes
as amended, seconded by Vice Chair Chuchua. There were six votes in favor to approve the correction; Chair Hamida
accepted the minutes.
6. SUB-COMMITTEES:
a) Center Gallery: Holly Unruh reported the next Center Gallery Opening Reception will be held on March 2nd at 7:30
p.m. for artist, Lawrence Brunmeier’s exhibit “Angel Blessings.”
b) Public Art Program: None.
c) Multi-Cultural Event: None.
d) Poet Laureate: None.
e) Heritage: Commissioner Daniels reported Vice Chair Chuchua signed the recommendation letter in the absence of
Chair Hamida. Holly Unruh reported she will follow up with Jane Newell and will provide an update at the next
Commission meeting.

7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Commissioner Daniels reported the Black History parade has been re-scheduled to February
23rd at 4 p.m.
Holly Unruh stated the Logan Wells Skatepark dedication is scheduled for February 23rd at 10 a.m.
Commissioner Brunette requested for an art mural to be installed at Palm Lane Park. Chair Hamida will take the lead in
adding this idea to the Public Art Program.
Commissioner Adelekan shared African American culture information and photos with the Commission in honor of Black
History Month.
8. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Hamida adjourned the meeting at 7:19 p.m.
NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Downtown Anaheim
Community Center, 250 Center St., Anaheim CA 92805.
