AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM ADDING NEW CHAPTER 16.24 TO TITLE 16
OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
PARAMEDIC FEES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
SECTION 1.
That Title 16 be, and the same is hereby, amended by
adding Chapter 16.24 thereto to read as follows:
"CHAPTER 16.24
16.24.010 PARAMEDIC FEES
Paramedic fees are hereby established to be charged
in connection with paramedic services provided by the
Anaheim Fire Department. The amount of such fees shall
be set by resolution of the City Council on the basis
of voluntary subscription or actual use of the service.
There shall be two types of user fees as follows:
1. The "Voluntary Subscription Fee" shall be
offered to residents and businesses on a voluntary
basis for the purpose of assuring subscribers they will
not incur higher direct fees should they require
paramedic services.
2. The "Fee for Services" shall be charges
designed to recover costs associated with the delivery
of paramedic services to non-residents and residents
and businesses that do not participate in the Voluntary
Subscription Fee system. Such fees shall be based on:
a. Emergencies requiring Basic Life
Support services by paramedics and engine companies; and
b. Emergencies requiring Advanced Life
Support services and paramedic accompaniment to a
medical facility."
16.24.020 CITY COUNCIL TO SET PARAMEDIC FEES.
The City Council shall by resolution establish all
paramedic fees which are billed and collected by the
City of Anaheim for Voluntary Subscription or Fee for
Services charges for residents and businesses.
16.24.030 COLLECTION OF FEES.
It shall be the duty of the Fire Department to
collect paramedic fees."
SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY
The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby
declares that should any section, paragraph, sentence or
word of this ordinance of the Code, hereby adopted, be
declared for any reason to be invalid, it is the intent of
the Council that it would have passed all other portions of
this ordinance independent of the elimination herefrom of
any such portion as may be declared invalid.
SECTION 3. CERTIFICATION
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once
within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the Anaheim
Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, published and
circulated in said City, and Thirty (30) days from and
after its final passage, it shall take effect and be in
full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 14th day of May, 1985.

The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby
