A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF GRANT
APPLICATIONS AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRANTS ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR THE
SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM
(STEP) GRANT, PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE SAFETY
PROGRAM GRANT, CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY
PROGRAM GRANT AND MOTORCYCLE SAFETY
PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE
TO EXECUTE ALL REQUIRED GRANT DOCUMENTS,
AND AMENDING THE BUDGET ACCORDINGLY.
WHEREAS, the State of California, Office of Traffic Safety (the "Grantor") has
heretofore invited public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications
for the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant, Pedestrian and Bicycle
Safety Program Grant, Child Passenger Safety Program Grant and Motorcycle Safety
Program Grant (the "Grants") to the Grantor; and
WHEREAS, in January 2019, the Police Chief of the City of Anaheim, by and
through his designee, submitted applications on behalf of the City of Anaheim to the
Grantor for the Grants; and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of the
Grants; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms,
conditions and limitations imposed upon the Grants; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded and desires to accept the Grants; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to
reflect and incorporate the Grants funds awarded to the City, and to increase the annual
appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such awards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. The submission of the applications for the Grants by the Police Chief on
behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the laws of the
State of California, to the Grantor is hereby ratified and approved.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this
resolution does, accept the Grants without further action of the City Council
being required therefor.
3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms,
conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon the Grants, and the
Anaheim Police Chief is hereby authorized and directed to execute any
agreements, assurances, or other documents that are required or necessary
in connection with the acceptance or implementation of the Grants.
4. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim shall be amended by increasing the
appropriations and authorized expenditures in Program No. 218 in such
amounts as are equal to the amount of Grants funds to be received by the
City.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 24 day of September , 2019, by the
following roll call vote:
