1.CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Vice Chair
Wilson.
2.PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Board Member Schuerger led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
3.UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None.
4.SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: Vice Chair Wilson introduced two new Board Members, Linda Barnett and
Gloria Ma’ae. Board Members Barnett and Ma’ae gave a brief overview of themselves and their
involvement with the community.
5.APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Vice Chair Wilson presented the March 14, 2019 Minutes to the Board
Members for changes or corrections. Board Member Schuerger made a motion to approve the March 14,
2019 meeting minutes, seconded by Vice Chair Wilson. The motion was voted with 2 ayes from Vice Chair
Wilson and Board Member Schuerger and 2 abstentions from Board Members Barnett and Ma’ae ; Vice
Chair Wilson accepted the minutes.
6.PREVIOUS BUSINESS:
A.FY2019/2020 CDBG Public Service Funding Recommendation:
1)Preliminary Funding Recommendation Update: Joe Perez provided a brief overview of the
recommendation that was approved at the last meeting. The final recommendation w ill be
completed and sent to the Community and Economic Development Department to be added to the
City’s Annual Action Plan. It will then go to City Council for approval in May or June.
7.NEW BUSINESS:
A.FY2020/2021 Funding Cycle Timeline:
1)Neighborly Works Software: Joe Perez stated there will be a new online process to submit
applications for the FY2020/2021 funding cycle. Joe introduced Michelle Gallardo, with the
Community and Economic Development Department. Michelle and Joe both provided an overview
to the new online application system and answered questions. The new system will be presented
and an orientation will be given to the applying agencies at the pre -application workshop on May

1st. Staff and the Board Members will be given access to the online system to review the
applications.
8. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Joe Perez reported the City will be hosting a Mental Awareness Resource Fair
at the Ponderosa Park Family Resource Center on April 13th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
9. ADJOURNMENT: Vice Chair Wilson adjourned the meeting at 5:57 p.m.
