1. CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:34 p.m. by Chair
Beas.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Board Member Schuerger led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None.
4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: Joe Perez introduced a new Board Member, Steve Brio, a returning
Community Services Board Member. Board Member Brio provided a brief introduction and shared about his
involvement with the community.
5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Beas presented the April 11, 2019 Minutes to the Board Members
for changes or corrections. Board Member Barnett made a motion to approve the April 11, 2019 meeting
minutes with the following corrections: remove Earl Kelso from the ‘Board Members Present’ section and to
change the ‘Approval of the Minutes’ section to remove Chair Beas and replace with Vice Chair Wilson.
The motion was then seconded by Board Member Schuerger; motion was voted with 2 ayes from Board
Members Barnett and Schuerger, and 2 abstentions from Chair Beas and Board Member Brio; Chair Beas
accepted the minutes.
6. PREVIOUS BUSINESS:
A. FY2019/2020 CDBG Public Service Funding Recommendation:
1) Preliminary Funding Recommendation Update: Joe Perez shared he received confirmation from
the Community and Economic Development Department that the funding allocation for
FY2019/2020 will be $283,331 which is the same level of funding allocated in FY2018/2019. The
funding recommendation completed by the CSB will form part of the City’s Federal Annual Action
Plan that the Community and Economic Development Department estimates will come forth for
approval on July 30th.

7. NEW BUSINESS:
A. FY2020/2021 Funding Cycle Timeline:
1) Neighborly Software Overview: Joe Perez stated the new online application submission process
for FY2020/2021 is live on the City’s website. Applications and supporting documentation must
now be submitted electronically through this new Neighborly Software system. Non-profit agencies
who attended the Pre-Application Workshop on May 1st have been trained to use the new system.
Joe Perez also provided an overview and answered questions regarding the new online system for
Community Services Board Members.
2) Pre-Application Workshop: An application workshop was held on May 1 at the Downtown Anaheim
Community Center for non-profit agencies interested in applying for federal funding from the City of
Anaheim. Funding applications will be due on July 15th.
8. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: None.
9. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Beas adjourned the meeting at 6:19 p.m.
