OF APRIL 30, 2019
The special meeting of April 30, 2019 was called to order at 2:01 P.M. in the chamber of Anaheim
City Hall, located at 200 S. Anaheim Boulevard. The meeting notice, agenda, and related
materials were duly posted on April 25, 2019.
PRESENT: Mayor Harry Sidhu and Council Members Denise Barnes, Jordan
Brandman, Stephen Faessel, and Trevor O'Neil. Mayor Pro Tern Lucille
Kring and Council Member Jose F. Moreno joined the meeting during
Closed Session.
STAFF PRESENT: City Attorney Robert Fabela and City Clerk Theresa Bass.
ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO CLOSED SESSION:
City Attorney Robert Fabela announced the subjects of Closed Session Item Nos. 1-6, as follows:
Item No. 1 relates to a shooting by the Anaheim Police Department on July 21, 2018. Item No. 2
relates to a shooting by the Anaheim Police Department on April 4, 2019. Item No. 3 relates to a
suicide by an individual being held at the Anaheim jail on March 14, 2019. Item No. 4 involves a
potential litigation arising out of SB-1421, which made certain police personnel records public
records. Item No. 5 involves a potential litigation, including administrative hearing and
proceedings, arising out of the City's regulations of short-term rental properties (STRs), further
noting that he recused himself from this item and would not participate in its discussion. Item No.
6 involves the initiation of litigation, including administrative proceedings, to recover unpaid
transient occupancy taxes owed to the City.
