A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING THE AMBULANCE OPERATOR
JOB CLASSIFICATION, RATES OF COMPENSATION, AND
PAY POLICIES
WHEREAS, Section 1.05.020.0103 requires the Human Resources Director to
maintain and administer positon classification and compensation plan;
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2021, the City Council considered the first reading of
Ordinance No. 6 5 0 3 amending Section .030 of Chapter 1.05 of Title 1 of the Municipal Code,
establishing a new employee group of Ambulance Operator as employees exempt from the
classified service;
WHEREAS, the need exists to establish a new classification title, rates of
compensation, and pay policies for one unrepresented classification; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that establishing a
new classification, rates of compensation, and pay policies for one unrepresented classification is
in the best interest of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
SECTION 1.
1. The unrepresented classification Ambulance Operator shall be established
and compensated as set forth below:
Classification Step Hourly Salary
Ambulance Operator 1 —3 $15.00 - $16.00
2. The hourly pay structure for Ambulance Operator shall consist of three steps
(steps 1 —3), with each step being compensated fifty cents (.50) above the prior step.
SECTION 2.
1. Full-time employees assigned to the Ambulance Operator classification
who are required to speak in Spanish or other languages, as well as English, as part of their
regular duties of their position will be provided a bilingual stipend in the amount of fifty dollars
($50.00) per pay period. Employees must work a minimum of 40 hours in the pay period to
receive the stipend.
2. Part-time employees assigned to the Ambulance Operator classification
who are required to speak in Spanish or other languages, as well as English, as part of their
regular duties of their position will be provided a bilingual stipend at the rate of fifty cents (.50)
per hour.
SECTION 3.
The effective date of this Resolution shall be thirty (30) days from the second
reading and adoption of Ordinance No, 6 5 0 3
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution.
