1202 ORDINANCE NO . 1202
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF THE
TERRITORY KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS
"ORANGE-BROOKHURST ANNEXATION. "
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Anaheim
did on the 29th day of October , 1957 , by its Resolu-
tion No. 11187 , institute proceedings on its own initiative for
the annexation of certain new uninhabited territory described in
said resolution.
That before the passage and adoption of said Resolution ,
the proposal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter de-
scribed to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commis-
sion of the County of Orange , State of California, and reported up-
on by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and
certainty of the proposed boundaries , the non-conformance of proposed
boundaries with lines of assessment or ownership, the creation of
islands or corridors of unincorporated territory and other similar
matters affecting the proposed boundaries .
That said territory proposed to be annexed to said City
of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange , State of California,
and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim, is uninhabited territory,
and does not form a part of any municipal corporation. That said
Resolution contained a description of said territory in words and
figures as hereinafter in this Ordinance described.
That said Resolution No . 4187 was duly passed and
adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of said City Council
of the City of Anaheim, and specifically described the boundaries
of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim
and designated such territory as " ORANGE-BROOKHURST
ANNEXATION" and gave
notice of such annexation and fixed the 10th day of December
19 57 , at the hour of 7 :00 oIclock P.M. at the City Council
Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, as the day ,hour
and place for hearing of written protests to said annexation and
when and where any person owning real property within such territory
so proposed to be annexed and having objections to the proposed
annexation might appear before the City Council of the City of Ana-
heim and present written objections to the annexation of said terri-
tory to the City of Anaheim, and directed the City Clerk to publish
or cause tc be published a copy of said Resolution at least twice ,
but not oftener than once a week, for two successive weeks prior to
the date of said hearing, in a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit :
the Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, Calif-
ornia, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, printed, pub-
lished and circulated outside of the City of Anaheim, but in the
County of Orange , in which is located the territory hereinafter pro-
posed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, to wit : the Placentia
Courier, and directed that said publication be completed
at least twenty 20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove
mentioned; and further directed the City Clerk of the City of Ana-
heim to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to
be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll
available on the date the proceedings were initiated, at theaddress

shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to
any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of
lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable , with
said City Clerk; and that in the event that land within the territory
proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County,
that the City Clerk shall cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county,
and directed that such notices be given not less than twenty (20)
days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
That on the hour, day and at the place specified in said
Resolution No. 4187 , to wit : On the 10th day of December
19 57 , at the hour of 7: 00 o ' clock P.M. in the City Council Chamber
in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, California, the City Council
of the City of Anaheim did meet and assemble to hear and pass on all
protests filed or received up to the hour of 7: 00 oclock P.M. on
said date and the City Council did find that the Resolution fixing
the time and place of said hearing was published by the City Clerk as
therein directed, and that written notice of such proposed annexation
was mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed
to be annexed is assessed, or in which such person has any interest,
by the City Clerk as directed in said Resolution. That written pro-
tests were not made by the owner or owners of one-half of the value
of the territory proposed to be annexed according to the last equal-
ized assessment roll of the County of Orange , State of California ,
nor were protests made by public or private owners equal to one-half
of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by
the City Council.
SECTION 2e That the annexation of the territory included
within the boundaries of the ORANGE-BROOKHURST
ANNEXATION, and more particularly described as follows ,
to wit:

ORANGE - BROOKHURST ANNEXATION
A parcel of land located in the SE* of the NE* and the Ni of
the NE* of the SE* of Section 18, Township 4 South, Range 10 West ,
S.B .B .&M. , and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the existing Anaheim City Limits line
as established by the Orange Avenue Annexation to the City of Anaheim
passed by Ordinance No. 914 on August 10 , 1954, and filed with the
Secretary of State , October 18, 1954, said point being 30 feet West of
the East line and 40 feet North of the South line of the SE* of the
NE* of said Section 18; thence,
1. Northerly along a line parallel with and 30 feet West of
the East line of said Section 18 and along said City limits line 900
feet more or less to the North line of that parcel of land conveyed
by deed to John A. Skogman and wife on April 20 , 1955 , and filed in
Book 3036, Page 569 of Official Records in the office of the County
Recorder of Orange County, California; thence ,
2. Westerly following the North line of the above mentioned
John A. Skogman and wife property 380.82 feet , more or less , to the
East line of Lot 43 of Tract No. 2928, as shown on a map filed in Book
95, Pages 13, 14 and 15 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the
County Recorder of said Orange County, California; thence ,
3. Southerly following the East line of said Tract No. 2928,
140 . 00 feet , more or less , to an angle point in said East line; thence
Easterly 20 feet along said tract line; thence Southerly 536. 09 feet
along said East line to the SE corner of Lot 30 of said Tract No. 2928;
thence,
4. Westerly along the South line of Lots 30, 29 and 28 of said
Tract No, 2928 to the Northwest corner of that parcel of land conveyed by
deed to the Faith Lutheran Church of Anaheim on February 20, 1956 , said
deed being filed in Book 3417, Page 207 of Official Records in the office
of the County Recorder of said Orange County; thence ,
5. Southerly along the West line of the last mentioned parcel
of land and its southerly prolongation to a point , said point being 20
feet Southerly as measured at right angles from the North line of the
Niof the NE* of the SE* of said Section 18; thence ,
6. Easterly parallel with and 20 feet Southerly of said North
line of the Ni of the NE4 of SE* of said Section 18, 264.82 feet , more
or less , to the West line of that parcel of land conveyed by deed to
0. B. Weaver and wife on March 3, 1929, and filed in Book 247 , Page 428
of Official Records in the office of the County Recorder of said Orange
County, California; thence ,
7. Southerly along the West line of the above last mentioned
parcel of land 311.18 feet to a point in the existing City Limits line
as established by the Brookhurst Avenue Annexation to the City of
Anaheim, passed by Ordinance No. 1150 on June 25 , 1957, and filed with
the Secretary of State on July 29, 1957; thence,
8. Easterly along said City Limits line 365 feet to a point ,
said point being 30 feet West of the East section line of said Section
18; thence,
9. Northerly along a line parallel with and 30 feet West of
said East line and along said City Limits line to the point of beginning.

is hereby approved and said territory is hereby annexed to and in-
corporated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange , State of California,
and is hereby designated as the ORANGE-.BROOKHURST
ANNEXATION to the City of Anaheim.
SECTION 3: That from and after the effective date of this
Ordinance and the filing of a certified copy thereof with the Secre-
tary of State of the State of California, the annexation of the terri-
tory herein described shall be deemed to be and shall be complete and
thenceforth such annexed territory shall be , to all intents and pur-
poses , a part of the City of Anaheim, and from and after the effect-
ive date of such annexation, all property therein shall be subject to
taxation equally with the property within the City of Anaheim and
shall be taxed to pay its proportionate share of the existing indebt-
edness and liability of said City of Anaheim contracted prior to or
existing at the time of such annexation pursuant to the written con-
sent of the owners of property in said annexed territory filed with
the Clerk of the City of Anaheim prior to the adoption of this Ordin-
ance.
SECTION 4 : The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the
Anaheim Bulletin , a daily newspaper printed, published
and circulated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange , State of
California, and thirty ( 30) days from and after its final passage it
shall be in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me this
17th day of December , 19 57 .
