Dear Mayor Sidhu and Council Members,
I'm hoping you will reconsider your plans to demolish the Anaheim Cultural Arts Center. I have been there countless
times and wonder why you would destroy such a unique and culturally important building, not only for Anaheim but
California as well. Anaheim Ballet has called the Arts center its home for over 20 years and now the ballet school is in
danger of loosing that. I know nothing of the politics involved with your decision but often times it is connected to what
income can be generated by the property value and what would replace the Arts Center to potentially make more
money for the City of Anaheim.
Anyone who is deeply involved in the performing arts know how important it is not only for the community, but every
person who works so very hard to grow and improve. The work ethic and love for the arts will, and does carry these
artist through life and give us more than a performance, it gives us beauty for now and future generations.
Consider Anaheim Ballet's work with the underserved youth and free after school programs. We never know where and
when that spark comes from that ignites the fire that burns brightly in our youth. Given the current state of the health of
the world, we need more arts, more beauty and the Anaheim Ballet has most certainly earned and demonstrated its
commitment to the City of Anaheim! Anyone who has been fortunate enough to work with, or see a performance of the
Anaheim Ballet has been very fortunate.
Please vote in support of the Cooperative Agreement with Anaheim Ballet.
Sincerely,
Todd Lechtick
