RESOLUTION NO. 2004R- 38
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE
MURRA Y-HA '{DEN PROGRAM UNDER THE
CALIFORNIA CLEA)\; WATER, CLEAN AIR,
SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND
COAST AL PROTECTION ACT OF 2002 (WEST
ANAHEIM GYM)\;ASIUM)
WHEREAS. the People of the State of California have enacted the CALIFORNIA
CLEA'J WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND COASTAL
PROTECTION ACT OF 2002, which provides funds to the State of California for grants to
eligible Applicants; and

WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the Murray-Hayden Urban Parks and Youth
Service Program and the grant Project shown above within the State, setting up necessary
procedures; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks
and Recreation require the City Council of the City of Anaheim to certify by resolution the
approval of the Application before submission of said Application to the State; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim will enter into a Contract with the State of
CalIfornia for the Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
i\naheim hereby:
1.
Approves the f¡] ing of an Application for local assistance funds for the West
Anaheim Gymnasium project ÍÌ"om the Murray-Hayden Program under the
California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safc Neighborhood Parks and Coastal
Protection Act of 2002; and

Certifies that the City of Anaheim has or will have sufficient funds to operate and
maintain the Project: and

Certifies that the City of Anaheim has reviewed, understands, and agrees to the
General Provisions contained in the Contract shown in the Procedural Guide; and

Certifies that the Project conforms to the recreation element of any applicable city
or county general plan; and

Appoints the City Manager as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and
submit all documents including, but not limited to, applications, agreements,
payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the
Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 2003R-225 is hereby
rescInded in its entirety.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 16th day of March ,2004, by the
following roll call vote:
