A RESOLUTJON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING PERSONNEL RULE 17 PERTAINING TO SICK LEAVE
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 76R-182 established sick leave
provisions for certain employees of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 76R-182 has been amended from
time to time by Resolution Nos. 80R-588, 81R-24 and 81R-151; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended
certain amendments to Personnel Rule 17. Sick Leave for
empl()yees in classifications designated as Executive Management,
Administrative Management. Middle Management/Supervisory,
Professional and Technical Management, the City Manager, City
Attorney, City Clerk, City Treasurer and the Confidential Group;
and
find

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does
that the adoption of the recommended amendments is in the
interests of the City of Anaheim.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
¡ht, City of Anaheim that Personnel Rule 17. Sick Leave be
amended as follows:
1. Sectinn 17.1 of Personnel Rule 17 is hereby amended
1c) r'cad as follows:
'Section 17 1 Each employee shall have one-half (1/2) hour
deducted from his accrued sick leave time for each one-half
(12) hollr of sick leave taken. An employee with a regular work
cia\' of eight (8) hours shall have eight (8) hours deducted from
his accrued sick leave time for each regularly scheduled working
day that he is on paid sick leave. An employee assigned to work
1w 'nty.four (24) hour shifts shall have twenty-four (24) hours
deducted from his accrued sick leave time for each complete
shift missed while on paid sick leave. The minimum amount of
S¡~k Leave that may be taken at any given time shall be one-half

2. Subsection 17.55 of Section 17.5 of Personnel Rule
IS hereby amended to read as follows:
"17 5;', Up to forty-eit~ht (48) hours of sick leave per calendar
year shall be granted for illness of the employee's immediate
