64-722RESOLUTION NO o 64J~,722 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY' COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON- VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMfPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT: {EDOUGLAS_,~TREE~ SEWER I/~. ,ROVEMENT, FROM AP- OXIMATELY 600 'FZET NORTH OF KA~ELLA AVENUE TO APPROXIMATELY 1050 FEET NORTH OF KATELLA AVENUE ~N/_~E '---C_IT~ O__F_AN~EI__M~ Jo-~ NO. 1303~'I - ' ' k-P~~N~~--DESIGNS~ ~L~S~ PR0'FILES, DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM- PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI- FICATIONS~ ETC~; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF. WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the construction and completion of a public improvement in the City of Anaheim,~ to wit~ The Douglas Street Sewer Improvement, consisting of the construction of a 10-inch V.C.P. s~wer line in Douglas Street, from approximately 600 feet north of Katella Avenue to approximately 1050 feet north of Katella Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, including trenching, backfilling and flooding, construction of wyes, plugs, brick or precast manhole, A. C. resur- facing, and appurtenant work as more particularly set forth in the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer, Job No. 1303. AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed th..e, public wor~.~ Dmna.r. tment to prepare detailed designs, Plans, pfofzles, d~a{$ing~ and specifications, and estimates of quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con- struction of said public improvement; and WHEREAS, said Public Works Depa~r. tment has prepared said detailed d~'~igns, plan~,~ pr°~iles, d'r~i'n'gS and specifications for the construction of said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi- dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the construction of said public improvement and should be approved. NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of th~ City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve- ~emt hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public Work~~sDeparCment o AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve- ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as p~.~ed by said Public Works Depa~cme~t and hereby approved, and suc~ addenda or modif~catzons thereto as may be .~pproved prior to the awarding of bids therefor. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to cor~struct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles, ~,~wings and specifications as prepared by said Public Works pepartment , the public improvement '~ereinabove m.e~tioned and described and fixing the 29th day of October , 1964 ', at the hour of~clock P.M. as the ~~-and hour for~e opening of said bids at the City C©uncii Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and '~h~t .said notice shall be published twice, the first of which l~,ublications shall, be at least ten (10) days prior.to the date fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications ~ha]..i be at least five (5) days apart.
