A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF OR HIS DESIGNEE
TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM TO THE OFFICE OF DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2005
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM (AFGP)AND IF
AWARDED, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF SUCH GRANT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY AND AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL
YEAR 2004-05 ACCORDINGLY
WHEREAS, the Office of Domestic Preparedness of the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security (the "Grantor") has heretofore invited public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to
submit applications to the Grantor for the Fiscal Year 2005 Assistant to Firefighters Grant
Program("AFGP") (the "Grant"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to submit an application to Grantor for said Grant
for Fire Department purposes; and
and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of any such Grant;
WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions and
limitations imposed upon any such Grant to the City; and
and
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept any such Grant which may be awarded to the City;
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to reflect and
incorporate any Grant so awarded to the City, and to increase the annual appropriations and
expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as
follows:
The Anaheim Fire Chief or his designee is hereby authorized to submit a Grant
application for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established
under the laws of the State of California, and the Anaheim Fire Department Disaster
Preparedness Manager, or the Anaheim Fire Chief, or the Anaheim Assistant City
Manager is authorized to execute any actions necessary for the purpose of obtaining
federal financial assistance provided by the federal Office of Domestic Preparedness
of the Department of Homeland Security (the "Grantor"), including any extensions
and amendments thereot:

The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this resolution,
does accept any such Grant so awarded to the City of Anaheim without further action
of the City Council being required therefor.

The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms,
conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the Anaheim
Fire Department Disaster Preparedness Manager, or the Anaheim Fire Chief, or the
Anaheim Assistant City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute any
agreements, assurances, or other documents as may be necessary in connection with
the acceptance of said Grant as may be required by the Grantor, if such Grant is
awarded to the City.

If awarded, the fiscal year 2004/2005 revenue and expenditure appropriations will be
increased by $262,834.00 in Program 101-310-2205-1599, Miscellaneous Federal
Grants; and the Finance Director is hereby authorized to carry forward into future
fiscal years any unexpended appropriation related hereto.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim this 27th day of April ,2004, by the following roll call vote:
