A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM GRANTING CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT NO. 502 .

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive an application for a Conditional Use Fermit
from ROBERT P. O ILLMAN, ~. THEODORE ERICK$ON, RON KARO$ and
DAVID W HOOK, 1780 West Lincoln Avenue, Suite "H" Anaheim
California, to chan~¢ the use of the extsttn§ complex of build-
inc~s located on the property hcr¢inaftsr described from a motel
to a multiple-family planned residential development, with car-
poFts~ and to permit a waiver of the one-story height l trattation~
a waiver of the rcqui~¢d frontage on a dedicated street or alley,
and. a waiver of the garage requirement on said property herein-
after described. That said property ~s situated ~n the C~ty of
Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, and ts more
particularly described as follows:
Thc Easterly 551.30 feet of the North half of Lot 2,
as shown on a Record of Survey of part of Section ~,
Township ~ South, Ranue 10 West, S.B.B. & M., filed
in Book 1, Pa9e 55 of Record of Surveys in the office
of the County Recorder of Oran§e County, California.
Excepting therefrom the South 27.00 feet.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the Ci. ty of Anaheim upon said
application on November 27, , 19.__63' notices of which
said public hearing 'were"duly giveh as requi'~ed by law and the
provisions of Title 18, Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection,
investigation and studies made by itself and in its behalf and
after due consideration of all evidenco and reports offerod at
said hearing did adopt its Resolution No. _971 Series

WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty-two (22) days
from the date of the adoption of said resolution, the C~ty
Council did elect, upon its own motion, to review the action
of the City Planninu Commission in ~rantinu said Cond~t~ona!
Use Permit and d~d thereupon fix the 7th day of January,
196[~, ss the t~me and the Council Chamber in the C{ty Hall of
the City of Anaheim as the place for a pub!tc hear~n~ upon said
Conditional Use Permit, and uot~ces of such public hearth§ were
duly 9iven as required by law and the provisions of T~tle 18,
Cha.pter 18.76 of the Anaheim Munic~pa! Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
heating, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such
hearing and did give all persons interested therein an oppor-
tunity to be heard and did ~ecetve evidence and reports; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds, after careful
consideration of the recommendations of the City Planning
Commission and all e¥idence and reports offered at sa id hear-
ing, that:

Subject development is an R-3, Multiple-Family
Residential Zone development because of standards
required by t'he City Council in grant,n§ the motel
permi t.

The proposed use is properly one for which a
Conditional Use Permit is authorized by the
Anahe ira Mun ici pal Code.
The proposed use will not adversely affect the
adjoining land uses and the growth and develop-
ment of the area in ~ich the property is located.
The size and shape of the site proposed for the
use is adequate to allow the full development of
the pro posed u5¢ in a manner not detriment al to
the particular area nor to the peace, health,
safety andgeneral welfare.
The traffic generated by the proposed use will
not impose an undue burden upon the streets and
htghways designed and improved to carry the
trafftc in the area.
The granting of the Conditional Use Permit under
the conditions imposed will not be detrimental to
the peace, health, safety and general welfare of
the citizens of the City of Anaheim.

The granting of this Conditional Use Pervr:it is in no
way an indication that a precedent is being estab-
lished wherein other motels in commercial or
recreational areas will be granted a similar zoning;
but this Conditions, 1 Use Permit is granted because
of the unique circumstances noted.
NOW, TH EREFO?E, BE iT' RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Ane. h¢im that the action of the City Planning
Commission granting sat d Conditional Use .Permit be, and the
same is hereby sustained, and that Conditional Use Permit
No. 502 be, and the same is hereby, granted permitting the

use of th~ existing complex of buildings situated on the pro-
perty he re tnbefor · descr 1bed to be changed from a mote 1 to a
multiple-family planned residential development, w~th carports,
and permitting a waiver of the one-story hej§ht l~mltation, the
required frontage on a dedicated street or alley, and the garage
requirement on the property hereinbefore described, subject to
the followin~ conditions:
That trash storage areas shal~l be provided in accord-
ance wi th approved plans on fi le in t~,¢ Office of th~
Director of Public Works and Superintendent of Streets,
prior to the reclassification of subject property to
R-3, Igulttple-Family Restdent!al~ Zone.

That the rear and side walls of the proposed carports
shall be finished with exterior building materials;
that enclosed storage cabinets, With a minimum
capacity of lO0 cubic feet, shall be provided at the
rear wall of each carport; and that adequate bumper'~
Guards shall be provided to protect the interior walls
of the carports, all of which shall be completed prior
to th~ reclassification of subject property to
Multiple-Family Residential Zone.

That this Conditional Use Permit is 9ranted subject
to the completion of Reclassification Proceedings
No. 63-6~,57 now pending.
The City Council hereby reserves the right to revoke
such Conditional Use Permit for good cause of failure of said
owners, the ir he irs, successors or assi§ns to comply with the
Anaheim Municipal Code and regulations and thc conditions
herein.
