A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM CONCERNING THE
ST A TL.:S OF THE CIRCULATION ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN FOR THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to maintain and improve the streets
within Its jurisdiction, including those arterials contained in the Master Plan of Arterial
Highways ("MPAH"); and
\VI IEREAS, the City of Anaheim has endorsed a definition of, and a process for,
detenllinmg consistency of the City's Traffic Circulation Plan with the MPAH; and
WHEREAS, the City has adopted a General Plan Circulation Element which does
not preclude implementation of the MPAI-I within Itsjurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the City is required to adopt a resolution infonning the Orange
County Transportation Authority ("OCTA") that the Circulation Element of the City's General
Plan fthe "Circulation Element") is in contèmnance with the County's Master Plan of Arterial
High\vays and whether any changes to any arterial highways of said Circulation Element have
been adopted by the City during Fiscal Years 2002-2003 and 2003-2004; and
WHEREAS, the City is required to send every even-numbered year to the Orange
County Transportation Authority all recommended changes to the Circulation Element and the
County Master Plan of Arterial Highways for the purpose of requalifying for participation in the
Combined Transportation Funding Programs.
NOW.. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anahe1l11 that the City of Anaheim should, and does hereby inform the Orange County
Transportation Authority that:

The arterial highway portion of the Circulation Element is in conformance with
the County Master Plan of Arteria] Highways.

The CIty attests that no unilateral reductIon in through lanes has been made on any
MPAH arterials durIng Fiscal Year 2002-2003 and 2003-2004.

The City has adopted a uni lèmn setback ordinance providing for the preservation
of rights-of.-way consistent wlth the M P A H arterial highway classification.

The City has adopted provisions for the limitation of access to arterial highways in
order to protect the mtegrity of the system.
THE FOREGOING RESOLLTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the CIty of Anaheim this 25tbiay of May .2004, by the following roll-call vote:
