A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING PARAMEDIC FEES TO BE CHARGED BY
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND REPEALING
RESOLUTION NO. 89R- 176
WHEREAS, Section 16.24.020 of the Anaheim Municipal Code provides that the City
Council shall by resolution establish all fees for paramedic services to residents and businesses of
the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has by Resolution No. 89R-176, as amended, established such
paramedic fees; and
WHEREAS, in order to assist in defraying the cost of paramedic services, the City Council
desires to establish new service fees to be paid by persons who utilize or benefit from having said
paramedic service readily available; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and declares that adoption of this fee schedule
is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to Section
21080(b)(8) of the Public Resource Code; and,
WHEREAS, the fees hereinafter established do not exceed the estimated reasonable cost of
providing paramedic services in the City of Anaheim for which the fees are charged; and
WHEREAS, the fees have been considered at a duly noticed public hearing as required by
law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that
the fees set forth below be, and the same are, hereby established as follows:
Section 1: The following fees may be charged for paramedic service calls:
Voluntary_ Subscription Fee
$36 per year per residence, business or
industry (does not include BLS or
ALS Transport)
First Responder Fee
Cost Per Call
Emergencies requiring basic
or advanced life support
by paramedics and/or engine
companies that do not require
transport
$300.00
Advanced Life Support Transport Fee $250.00
Section 2: Parties will have the option of entering into separate contracts with the City of
Anaheim that may provide fees for additional services.
Section 3: Resolution No. 89R-176 shall be repealed upon the effective date of the fees set
forth in this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the fees set forth in this Resolution shall become
effective immediately upon adoption of this Resolution by the City Council.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted bythe City Council ofthe City
of Anaheim this 15th day of June ,2004, by the following roll call vote:
