RESOLUTION NO. PC2000-105
A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 2000-00380 PERTAINING TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim General Plan
by Resolution No. 69R-644, showing the general description and extent of possible future development
within the City; and
WHEREAS, Planning Commission .directed staff to initiate an amendment to the Land
Use Element of the General Plan to redesignate subject property from the Commercial Professional land
use designation to the Hillside Low-Medium Density Residential land use designation on an irregularly-
shaped 16.2-acre property located at the northwest corner of La Palma Avenue and Weir Canyon Road,
having frontages of 1,643 feet on the north side of La Palma Avenue and 810 feet on the west side of
Weir Canyon Road, and further described as 8200 East La Palma Avenue; and
WHEREAS, this property consists of two vacant undeveloped parcels zoned RS-A-
43,000(SC) (Residential/Agricultural - Scenic Corridor Overlay) and CL(SC) (Commercial, Limited -
Scenic Corridor Overlay); and that the property is located within the boundaries of the River Valley
Redevelopment Project Area.
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the
Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, on September 11, 2000, at 1:30
p.m., notice of said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the
provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said General
Plan Amendment and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therewith;
and that the hearing was continued from the meeting of August 28, 2000; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due consideration, inspection, investigation and
study made by itself, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing,
DOES HEREBY FIND:
1. That the evidence presented substantiates the need for an amendment to the Anaheim
General Plan Land Use ~lement and that, therefore, Exhibit A should be adopted redesignating subject
area for Hillside Low-Medium Density Residential land uses.
2. That approval of this general plan amendment is consistent with the intent of the
Anaheim General Plan; and that the approved Hillside Low-Medium Density Residential land use
designation will be compatible with surrounding land uses, including the adjacent single-family residential
neighborhood to the west which has the same land use designation.
3. That no one indicated their presence at the public hearing in opposition to the proposal;
and that no correspondence in opposition was received.
CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: That the Anaheim City
Planning Commission has reviewed the proposal to amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan to
change the land use designation from Commercial Professional to Hillside Low-Medium Density
Residential on an irregularly-shaped 16.2-acre property located at the northwest corner of La Palma
Avenue and Weir Canyon Road, having frontages of 1,643 feet on the north side of La Palma Avenue
and 810 feet on the west side of Weir Canyon Road, and further described as 8200 East La Palma
Avenue; and does her~by approve the 'Negative Declaration upon finding that it has considered the
Negative Declaration together with any comments received during the public review process and further

finding on the basis of the initial study and any comments received that there is no evidence that the
project will have a significant effect on the environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the above findings, the
Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City Council of the City of
Anaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment No. 2000-00380 pertaining to the Land Use Element,
Exhibit "A," to redesignate the study area from Commercial Professional land uses to Hillside Low-
Medium Density Residentia/ land uses.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was adopted at the Planning Commission meeting of
