A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 2002-00406 PERTAINING TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Council did adopt the Anaheim General Plan by Resolution No.
69R-644, showing the general description and extent of possible future development within the City; and
WHEREAS, Anaheim City Planning Commission did direct staff to initiate an amendment to the
Land Use Element of the General Plan to redesignate a 1.07-acre property having a frontage of 150 feet on the
north side of Katella Avenue and a maximum depth of 309 feet, being located 160 feet east of the centerline of
Carnelian Street, and further described as 1597 West Katella Avenue, from the Commercial Professional land
use designation to the Low-Medium Density Residential designation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the Anaheim Civic Center,
Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, on January 13, 2003, at 1:30 p.m., notice of said public
hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim
Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said General Plan Amendment and to
investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and that said public hearing was
continued to the February 10, 2003 Planning Commission meeting; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due consideration, inspection, investigation and study
made trq-itself, and-after dt~e-consideration-of-all-evidence. and rep.orts offered at. said hearing, DOES HEREBY
FIND:
1. That the property is zoned RS-10,000 (Residential, Single-Family) and developed with a
prescr~c~i whi~ i ~~ u~ ~c~c~N~2u; a^~ #ha# !?Q~!~s~~f~~?tiQn N~ ~002-00085 (for RM-2400 'Residential, Multiple-
Family" zoning) and Conditional Use Permit No. 2002-04635 and Tentative Tract Map No. 16465 (for
construction of a 16-unit attached residential condominium subdivision) have been submitted and are being
considered concurrently with this General Plan Amendment.
2. That the evidence presented substantiates the need for an amendment to the Anaheim General
Plan and that, therefore, Exhibit A should be adopted redesignating subject area for Low-Medium Density
Residenfial land uses.
3. That no one indicated their presence at the public hearing in opposition to the proposal; and
that no correspondence was received in opposition.
CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: That the Anaheim City Planning
Commission has reviewed the proposal to amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan to change the
current land use designation from Commercial Professional to the Low-Medium Density Residential on a
rectangularly-shaped 1.07-acre property having a frontage of 150 feet on the north side of Katella Avenue and a
depth of 309 feet, being located 160 feet east of the centerline of Carnelian Street and further described as 1597
West Katella Avenue; and does hereby approve the Negative Declaration upon finding that it has considered
the Negative Declaration together with any comments received during the public review process and further
finding on the basis of the initial study and any comments received that there is no evidence that the project will
have a significant effect on the environment.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the above findings, the Anaheim City
Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim adoption of
General Plan Amendment No. 2002-00406 pertaining to the Land Use Element, Exhibit A, to redesignate the
study area from the Commercial Professional land use designation to the Low-Medium Density Residential
designation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was adopted at the Planning Commission rneeting of
February 10, 2003.
