Mayor Dutton called the meeting to order.
I~OCATION: Reverend Robert W. Bergeson, Martin Luther Hospital, gave the
Invocation.
FLAG SALUTE: Co~ncilman Thom led the Assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance
to the Flag.
MINUTES: Minutes of the Anaheim City Council Regular Maating, held February 16,
1971, were approved on motion by Councilman Thom, seconded by Councilman
Stephenson. MOTION CARRIED.
CORRECTION TO MINUTES: On motion by Councilman Stephenson, seconded by Council-
man Thom, correction to the Council Minutes of February 9, 1971, page 71-93,
under heading "Anaheim Union High School District - Convention Center Use,"
was authorized as follows:" .......... the City Attorney was authorized to
forward to the Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees an amend-
ed letter granting priority use of the Convention Center arena facilities
for graduation exercises ....... ." MOTION CARRIED.
WAIVER OF READING - ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS: Councilman Thom moved to waive
the reading in full of all ordinances and resolutions, and that consent to
the waiver of reading is hereby given by all Councilmen, unless after read-
ing of the title, specific request is made by a Councilman for the reading
of such ordinance or resolution. Councilman Roth seconded the motion. MOTION
UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED.
REPORT - FINANCIAL DEMANDS AGAINST THE CITY: Demands against the City, in the
amount of $778,868.35, in accordance with the 1970-71 Budget, were approved.
EXTENSION OF TIME - RECLASSIFICATION NO. 68-69-84, VARIANCE NO. 2075 AND TENTATIVE
TRACT NO. 6931: Request of C.J. Queyrel, Anacal Engineering Company, for a one-
year extension of time for compliance with certain conditions pursuant to
Resolutions Nos. 69R-280 and 69R-281, was submitted together with reports
of the City Engineer and Development Services Department.
On motion by Councilman Stephenson, seconded by Councilman Thom,
a one-year extension of time to expire May 20, 1972, was granted for Reclas-
sification No. 68-69-84, Variance No. 2075 and Tentative Tract No. 6931.
MOTION CARRIED.
EXTENSION OF TIME - RECLASSIFICATION NO. 69-70-10, VARIANCE NO. 2121 AND TENTATIVE
TRACT NO. 7103: Request of Millet-King & Associates, Incorporated, on behalf of
Mr. Horace Morlock and Mr. George Collman, for a one-year extension of time
for compliance with certain conditions pursuant to Resolutions Nos. 70R-124
and 70R-125, was submitted together with reports of the City Engineer and
Development Services Department.
On motion by Councilman Stephenson, seconded by Councilman Thom,
a one-year extension of time to expire March 10, 1972, was granted for Reclas-
sification No. 69-70-10, Variance No. 2121 and Tentative Tract No. 7103.
MOTION CARRIED.
EXTENSION OF TIME - RECLASSIFICATION NO. 68-69-88, VARIANCE NO. 2090, RECLASSI-
FICATION NO. 69-70-8 AND TENTATIVE TRACT NO. 6978, REVISION NO, 1: Request of
Millet-King & Associates, Incorporated, on behalf of Horace Morlock and

Department.
On motion by Councilman Stephenson, seconded by Councilman Thom,
a one-year extension of time to expire January 6, 1972, was granted for Re-
classification No. 68-69-88, Variance No. 2090, Reclassification No. 69-70-8
and Tentative Tract No. 6978, Revision No. 1. MOTION CARRIED.
EXTENSION OF TIME - RECLASSIFICATION NO. 68-69-49, TENTATIVE TRACT NO. 6824, REVI-
SION NO. 3 AND TENTATIVE TRACT NO. 68~5, REVISION NO. 1: Request of C. Michael,
Incorporated, for a one-year extension of time for compliance with certain
conditions, pursuant to Resolution No. 69R-38,was submitted together with re-
ports of the City Engineer and Development Services Department.
On motion by Councilman Stephenson, seconded by Councilman Thom,
a one-year extension of time to expire February 24, 1972, was granted for
Reclassification No. 68-69-49, Tentative Tract No. 6824, Revision No. 3, and
Tentative Tract No. 6825, Revision No. 1. MOTION CARRIED.
EXTENSION OF TIME - CONDITIONAL USE P~RMIT NO. 1067: Request of Newport Invest-
ments, Incorporated, Kenneth W. Koll, Agent, for a six-month extension of
time for compliance with certain conditions,pursuant to Resolution No. 68R-
694, was submitted together with reports of the City Engineer and Develop-
ment Services Department.
On motion by Councilman Stephenson, seconded by Councilman Thom,
a six-months extension of time to expire August 18, 1971, was granted Condi-
tional Use Permit No. 1067. MOTION CARRIED.

RESOLUTION NO. 71R-96 - PROPOSED ABANDONMENT NO. 70-6A: Councilman Roth offered
Resolution No. 71R-96 for adoption.

CANCELLATION OF COUNTY TAXES: On motion by Councilman Pebley, seconded by Coun-
cilman Roth, the Orange County Board of' Supervisors was requested to cancel
County taxes on property acquired by the City of Anaheim for municipal pur-
poses, pursuant to Resolution No. 71R-45 (Etchandy property), recorded Feb-
ruary 25, 1971, as Document No. 15227, in Book 9554, Pages 396 and 397, Of-
ficial Records of Orange County, California. MOTION CARRIED.
PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT - BURSTER IMPRINTER AND DECOLLATOR: Mr. Murdoch reported
on informal bids received for the purchase of a Burster Imprinter and Decol-
lator for the Data Processing Division, as follows, and recommended accept-
ance of the low bid:

On motion by Councilman Stephenson, seconded by Councilman Thom,
the low bid of Moore Business Forms, Inc., was accepted and purchase of the
Moore Imprinter Detacher and Forms Collator authorized in the amount of
$4,960.72, including tax. MOTION CARRIED.
RESOLUTION NO. 71R~97: On report and recommendation of the City Attorney, Council-
man Stephenson offered Resolution No. 71R-97 for adoption.

rier, on motion by Councilman Pebley, seconded by Councilman Thom:
a. Claim submitted by S.C. Christman, General Manager, Humpty
Dumpty House of Eggs, Inc., for purported personal property damage resulting
from a power failure, on or about January 23, 1971.
b. Claim submitted by Ray Houseman, Ray's Auto Sales, for purported
illegal sale of impounded auto, prior to March 8, 1971.
c. Claim submitted by Mrs. Arline Isaacs, for purported personal
property damage resulting from automobile accident, on or about January 11,
1971.

CORRESPONDENCE: The following correspondence was ordered received and filed on

a. Orange County Board of Supervisors - Resolution No. 71-156 - In-
dicating its desire to discuss with the Orange County Division of the League
of California Cities a proposed uBiform sign ordinance.
b. Orange County Board of Supervisors - Resolution No. 71-157 - Des-
ignating Supervisors William J. Phillips and Ralph B. Clark as representatives
of the Board of Supervisors to work with the Orange County Division of the
League of California Cities on the problems of island areas within the County
of Orange.
c. Before the Public Utilities Commission - Application of Southern
Pacific Transportation Company for authority to discontinue agency and to re-
move station building and appurtenances from public service at Santa Ana, County
of Orange, State of California.
