RETIRED EMPLOYEE LIFE INSURANCE PROGRAM - TRAVELERS: Mr. McRae recommended the
approval of a revised ret red employee life insurance program issued through
Travelers Life Insurance Company to be effective October 5, 1973. He reported
that current plan of reduced life insurance available at employee cost will
not be offered after said effective date and the revised program will only
affect employees who retire on or after October 5, 1973 and will not alter the
coverage of persons retired before that date. Employees who retire on or
after the effective date shall receive a paid-up life insurance policy, paid
for wholly by the City, with a face value determined by length of service,
as follows:
a. $100 for each complete year of City service.
b. $50 for City service over six months but less than a year.
c. The maximum amount shall be $2,000.
On the recommendations of the Personnel Director, the Council
approved the revised Retired Employees' Life Insurance Program through Travelers
Life Insurance Company and authorized the City Manager to sign the application
form, and further authorized the payment of the first month's estimated pre-
mium in the amount of $3,000, on motion by Councilman Pebley, seconded by
Councilman Stephenson. MOTION CARRIED.
ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Sneegas moved to adjourn. Councilman Stephenson seconded
the motion. MOTION CARRIED.
