Houghton, of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, advising of a change in the proposed locations of two requested directional church signs, and request- in9 Council consideration of said signs be deferred, pending submission of the new lo~ations~ The City Council instructed the City Clerk to reschedulesaid sign request on notification from the applicant. ,REQUEST -, WAIVER OF BUILDIN9 CODE REQqIREMENT: Request of Tom Key Realty, Inc. for waiver of building code pertainin9 to roof requirements, to allow shake roofing materials in construction of addition to existing office building at 811 South Euclid Avenue, was reviewed by the City Council. Memorandum from the Chief Buildlng Inspector was read in full, recommending said waiver be 9ranted in accordance with plans presented to the Building Department, subject to the treatment of the roof with a flame resistant material. On motion by Councilman Pebley, seconded by Councilman Schutte, waiver of Anaheim Building Code Roofing Requirements was granted, allowing shake roof construction, subject to the recommendations of the Chief Building Inspector. SIGN REQUEST ~ POWER .TOOL AND SUPPLY C, OMPA,NY: Application submitted by Power Tool and Supply Compa~Y, requesting permission to erect a free standing sign at 246 North Manchester Avenue, was reviewed by the City Council together with plans and reports from the Planning and Building Departments° On motion by Councilman $chutte, seconded by Councilman Pebley, said sign permit was granted as requested. MOTION CARRIED~ SIGN REQUEST, ~ Go K. G,ONSTRUGIION COMPANY: Application submitted by G. K. Construction Company for permission to erect a temporary directional sign advertising homes for sale, Tract No. 5245, to be located at the southwest corner of 9th Street and Katella Avenue, was reviewed by the City Council together with plans and reports from the Building and Planning Departments. On mo'tion by Councilman Pebley, seconded by Councilman $chutte, said sign permit was 9ranted for a period of six months~ subject to the posting of a $100 bond to insure removal of said sign. Construction Company requestin9 permission to erect a temporary directional sign adver'tising homes for sale, Tract No~ 5245, sign to be located at the southwest corner of Cerritos Avenue and Euclid Street, was reviewed by the City Council together wilh plans and reports from the guildin9 and Plannin9 Departments. On motion by Councilman Schutte, seconded by Councilman Pebley, said sign permit was 9ranted for a period of six months, subject to the posting o~ a $100 bond to insure removal of -the sign. SIGN REQUEST = WALKER AND LEE~ INC.: Application submitted by Walker and Lee, Inc., for permission to erect a free=standing sign at 1748 Varna Street, was reviewed by the City Council together with plans and reports from the Plannin9 and Building Departments. Discussion was held by the City Council, and Mayor Pro Tem Dutton asked if the applicant was present. Mr. William McCabe, of Walker and Lee, Inco, 2580 West Lincoln Avenue, was present and in answer to Mayor Pro Iem Dutton~s question, advised that the sign could be.placed within the center ten percent of the property, but would then have to be installed in front of the building, re- sulting in a projection over the property line. He stated that the sign was proposed on the easterly frontage to prevent blocking the view of sign on property to the west. At the conclusion of the discussion, Councilman Schutte moved Council consideration of subject sign request be continued two weeks (June 3, 1964, 1:30 P.M.) for revision of plans. Brownlee, dated April 28, 1964, for one year extension of time to bond, was submitted and reviewed by the City Council, together with reports from the Planning Department and the City Engineer. Tract located on the east side of Brook- hurst Street, between Crescent Drive and Lincoln Avenue. On the recommendations of the City Engineer, one year extension of time was granted to bond posted for Iract No. 5053, on motion by Councilman Pebley, seconded by Councilman Schutte. MOTION CARRIED. RECLASSIFICATION N0.,,62-6~-~9 AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 361 - REVISED 'by ' -- PLANS: Revised plans submitted LeRoy Rose, Architect, in connection with Reclassification No. 62-63-19 and Conditional Use Permit No. 361, were reviewed by the City Council together with report and recommendations from the City Engineer and the City Planning Commission. Mr. Kreidt reported that since the original approval of Reclassifica- tion No, 62-63-19, multiple family residential developments and alleys have been established to the north and west of the property, and the basic change in plans is that these now existin9 alleys provide secondary access to subject property. He further reported that the City Planning Commission recommends the following amendments to Ordinance No. 1809, reclassifying the property 1. Eliminate Condition No. 4. 2. Amend Condition No. 5 to read "That access rights shall be acquired to the alley along the westerly property line by purchasing a portion of Lot ~A" of Tract No. 3886, Amend Condition No. 6 to indicate Revision No. 3, Exhibit Nos. 19 2, and 3. Eliminate Condition No, 7, Add Condition No. 9 to read; ~That access rights shall be acquired to the alley along the northerly property line b'y purchasing Lot "A~' of Tract No. 5102. Add Condition No. 10 to read: ~That an alley cut-off with a radius of 17.50 feet be provided at 'the northwesterly corner of the subject property prior to the issuance of a building permit." 3~ 4~ . Attention was called to Rule VIII, Prohibited Use, wherein groups practicing certaln activities would be denied use of facilities or would have their permits cancelled; and Mr. Geisler was of the opinion that the wording of this regulation could be changed for further clarifica- tion. Councilman Schutte moved that the proposed Rules and Regulations for use of Park and Recreation Facilities, be approved, subject to the amendment to Rule VllI by the City Attorney, the re-wor~ding of said section to be approved by the City Council.
