DEMANDS~ Councilman Van Wagoner reported demands against the city amounting to
$134,907.26. Councilman Wiss~.r moved that report of Finance Committee be accepted
and that warrants be drawn upgn the Treasurer to pay said demands in accordance
with report. Councilman Schu~te seconded the motion. NDTION CARRIED.

Pursuant to Resolution No. 2338 and Legal Notice published February 12
and 18, the City Clerk was instructed to open bid proposals on motion by Councilman
Wisser, seconded by Councilman Van Wagoner. MOTION CARRIED.

No objections were ailed in writing with the City Clerk, and no one present
objected to the proposed abandonment, thereupon Councilman Schutte offered

commended hy the City Planning CommissiOn, on motion hy Councilman Van Wagoner,

TENTATIVE MAP~ TRACT NO. 1530: Federated Construction Co. Location: South side
of £. Center Street east of the Lincoln School. 18 lots.
City Planning Commission approved the Tentative Map, February 15, 1954,
subject to the following:
1. Payment of $25.00 per lot for the acquisition of park and recreational
sites.
2. Engineering requirements.
Acceptance of the Tentative ~ap was objected to by Nlr. Jim Nichter, a
resident on East Center Street, who claims that misrepresentation of use of
property in the tract was made to adjacent property owners by the Subdivider, and
that signatures were gained favoring said application accordingly.
Mr. Mungall advised that the lots in the tract were up for reclassification,
and would be reviewed at the next meeting of the City Planning Commission. Lot No. 1
to be reclassified as C-2, and other changes here would be made in the tract, from
R-1 to R-2 and R-3, and that a Service Station was contemplated for Lot No. 1 of the
tract, and possible a grocery store for the other lot facing Center Street.
Mr. Nichter also stated that if such reclassification was allowed, it
should be carried through to also cover his property directly across the street
from the proposed Service Station, the entire zone should be "Commercial".
The Administrative Officer adVised that lots fronting on Center Street
were shown and designated on the Zoning Map as "Future C-2".
It was considered that the Tentative Map should be handled together with
the matter of rezoning.
The City Attorney stated that he could see no objections to the considerat-
ion of both at the same time.
Councilman Fry moved to withhqld approval~ without prejudice, subject to
the Hearing of the reclassification of ~he property. Councilman Schutte seconded
the motion. MOTION CARRIED.
.APPOINTMENT: PATROLMAN~ Chief of Police appointed John Henry Vignau, Patrolman for
the City of Anaheim. Said appointment was ratified by the City Council on motion by
Councilman Van Wagoner, seconded by Couricilman Wisser. MOTION CARRIED.
REDEL INCORPORATED: LEASE: Renewal of lease to Redel Incorporated for city-owned
property at 1150 No. Olive, @ $175.00 per month was recommended by the City Administrat-
ive Officer, and so ordered on motion bY Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Schutte.
MOTION CARRIED. The City Attorney was ~nstructed to prepare "Business Property Lease"
renewal commencing November 1, 1954 (on~ year).
VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA.: Annual TAG DAY, Saturday, March 13, 1954 was apProved on
motion by Councilman Fry, seconded by COuncilman Wisser. MOTION CARRIED.

SPEED ~ONE: Chief of Police, iMark A. Stephenson recommended the lengthening of the
25-mile per hour speed zone on East Sycamore Street from Flower Street to Placentia
Avenue.
Said recommendation was approved by the Council, and the City Attorney was
requested to prepare necessary amendment to the Anaheim Municipal Code, on motion by
Councilman Van Wagoner, secon4ed by Councilman Wisser. MOTION CARRIED.
BENCHES: Report on questionaires of the experiences of other cities with benches
installed on city streets was isubmitted by the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and
ordered received and filed on imotion by Councilman Van Wagoner, seconded by Council-
man Wisser. MOTION CARRIED.
J.O.S. NtINUTES: Special Meeting held January 26th and Regular Meeting held February
4, 1954 of the Executive Committee of the Joint Outfall Sewer was submitted,
read and ordered received and filed on motion by Councilman Wisser, seconded by
Councilman Fry. NDTION CARRIED.
J.O.S. REPORT: of expenses paid on Sections 3 and 4 and recording flows and treat-
ing Sections 5 and 6, and REPORT of the flow of sewage for the month of January
was submitted and ordered and'filed on motion by Councilman Wisser, seconded by
Councilman Van Wagoner. MOTION CARRIED.
