I~RO~AL- .P~URCHASE OF CITY .OWNF~D PROPERIY~ Proposal of Hobbs Trucking Company, 325 Nerth Tustin Street, Orange, California, to purchase a 4.'4 acre parcel of municipal owned property on Julianna Street, was submitted, together with proposed plan of development° Said plan was reviewed by the City Council and discussion was held regarding the present use of the property hy the Parks and Recreation De- part~nt and the Public Works Department, and also, the need for a traffic suz~ey of this area o Councilman Chandler moved that a traffic survey he made by the City of the co~rcial area east of Harbor Boulevard, north of La Palina Avenue, and heunded on the east hy the railroad tracks and on the north hy the freeway, with specific report as to how the proposed trucking operation would affect the traffic situation. Councilman Thompson seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. Councilman Coons moved that a recommendation be obtained from the Parks and Recreation Department and the City Manager as to what facilities are available for the pistol or rifle range presently conducted on the property in conjunction with the recreation program. Councilman Fry seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED'. A gentleman representing the Santa Ana Neon Sign COmpany.,. addressed the CoUncil, explaining the necessity for such a large sign as the skating rink is adjacent to large trees° Plans were reviewed by the City Council. Councilman Coons moved that this sign application he approved, subject to the condition that the height of the sign be limited to the distance from the ce'nterline of the sign column to the centerlin'e of Katella Avenue° Councilman Chandler seconded the' motion.
