LOCATION: _1682 West Kateila Avenue (Numero Uno Pizzas Property is approximately
18.6 acres located at the southeast corner of Kateila Avenue and Euclid Street.
To permit on-premise sale and consumption of beer and wine in conjunction with an existing
restaurant with waiver of minimum number of parking spaces. Continued from
November 10, 1994 Zoning Administrator meeting for the applicant to be present at the hearing.
Remarks: Melvina Li, Agent, and Linda Maiborne, Manager of S. Pasadena Numero Uno Pizza,
appeared and spoke in support of project. In response to a letter of opposition from the Police
Department regarding issuance of an A.B.C. permit, Ms. LI summarized many improvements in
appearance and security for this shopping center over the last two years, as well as her 9 years
of experience in operating this type of business. Officer Gandy appeared and spoke against
issuance of A.B.C. permit due to high crime and over-saturation of on-sale permits in the area.
Zoning Administrator approved parking waiver portion of project under Variance No. 4268 and
continued the beer and wine use permit portion of project to January 5, 1995 for further analysis.
