It will be noted, the Variance~ as approved, provides for off2street parking. 5. He further stated:that he had tal~ed~with several residents in the area that were not opposed to the proposed Club House, but they didnot wish to enter into the argument. The Protestants represent 33 inames~ of which 95% are. husband and wife, which would be half the owners of specific ~arcels. Regarding the sidewalk: It was ncr/ced that the Variance was granted subject to the installation of curbs and sidewalks ~n W. Vermont Ave. and S. Lemon St. MR. JENSEN~ 987 So. Lemon St. Called atten~on to the discussed commercial--zone~-iand--~ the fact that the set-back of 50 feet for commercial zones was not mentioned. He stated he owned a nice home which would be r~ght across the street from the Club House, and doesn't know what they are going to do. He further reminded the Council that the people present at the council meeting Surrounded the complete neighborhood. AqAYOR advised the audience of the good work the Assistance Leaguedoes and of the very decorous women that make up the League.. The N~yor asked what zone a C.~ub- House dould take~ and was advised that it normally took R-2 zoning. Which R-2 zoning is across the street from proposed club house site. · Discussion and questions as to the size of the proposed Truxaw house; the 'type of Club House proposed to be build; the conduction of dances and parties~ followed. Representative of the Assistance League advised, they planned to build a residential type Club House~ something that would go with the surrounding homes. Their meetings were usually from 12:30 until about 3:00 P.M'~ once a month~ hOwever they Would have other meetings there also~ but they certainly would not be something that would be a nuisance to community and neighborhood. ~. SAGARET stated they were not against the Assistance League, but feared what re- act later relative to the Club House. N~YOR advised that a Variance was revocable at any time, and was granted for one use only. He stated if the F.H.A. or V.A. stated such a Club House would devalue property in the area, the Council should know about it, and should have such a statement in writing. Further action was postponed for two weeks, on motion by Councilman Schutte, seconded by Councilman Wisser. ~OTION CARRIED. Grif£ith was elected by the people of the City-~of Anaheim to the Office of City Clerk on the 9th day of April, 1934, and has been reelected and has continued to serve as City Clerk of the City of Anaheim contin- uously since that date; and WHEREAS, the ~aSd Charles E. Griffith has vacated said' Office of City Clerk effective August 1, 1954~ and WHEREAS, the said Charles f.
