to their Resolution No. 64 (1954-55) denied said Variance.

VARIANCE NO. 275: Submitted by Mrs. R. G. Mitchell requesting permission to
construct a building and other improvgments for use as a service station at the
location of East Center Street and No}th East Street, and further requesting
-waiver to present set-back lines. The City Planning Commission pursuant to their
Resolution No. 65 (1954-55) granted said Variance.
Discussion was held relative to Deed Restrictions applicable to this
location and Mr. Murdoch will inves'tigate and report his findings to the Council
at the next meeting.
RECLASSIFICAIION F-54-55-16: Submitted by Joe Y. and Vera Mendez for reclassifi-
cation of property located at 1514 Ea~.% Center Street from R-A to C-1 for the
erection of a Medical Center. The City Planning Commission pursuant to their
Resolution No. 62 (1954-55) denied s~d reclassification.
RECLASSIFICATION F-54-55-18: Submitted by Manly-Ku~ns Corporation requesting
R-2 and R-3 reclassification of the sdUth portion o~ the property next to the
Edison Companies right-of-way between 9th and Walnut south of Cerritos Avenue.
The City Planning Commission pursuant %o their Resolution No. 60 (1954-%5)
denied said Reclassification.
REGLASSIFIGAIION F-54-55-20: Submitted by property owners along West La Palina
Avenue west of Euclid Avenue on the n°mth side requesting reclassification from
R-A to C-1. City Planning pursuant to their Res61utiO~ No' 63 (1954-55) granted
said reclassification.
Public Hearing was ordered to be held on the matter January 25~ 1955~
8:00 o'clock P.M. on motion by Councilman Van Wagoner, seconded by Councilman

signatures opposing the size of the lots in this tract was submitted.

This proposed Ordinance No. 962 Was thoroughly discussed and considered
by the City Council, and reading in full was waived on motion by Councilman Wisser
seconded by Councilman Van Wagoner and unanimously carried by the City Council.

corner of Orange Avenue a~d Gilbert Street. 98 lots.
Ihe City Planning Commission approved said tentative map, subject to:
1. In order toiprovide the required frontage on Cul-de-Sacs, Lots
89~ 90 and 91 will probably require re-designing affecting the loss of one lot.
2. The northeast corner of this Tract should be re-designed prObably
with the extension of Ran~om Drive ("A" Street) to connect with that Drive in
the subdivision to the east. The purpose of this revision is to maintain the
character of development through pattern and lot sizes similar to that being
developed in the Tract to the east.
3. ~-foot strips at the south end of "A" and "B" Streets will not be
accepted.
4. Payment of $25.00 per lot for acquisition of park and recreation
sites.
5. Engineering!requirements.
The City Council, on motion by Councilman Van Wagoner, seconded by
Councilman Wisser, approved said Tentative Map~ subject to conditions as outlined
by the City Planning Commission, and further subject to:
1. Completion of annexation proceedings.
2. The construdtion of homes on lots 1 to six, inclusive and 94 through
96, inclusive and Numbers i75, 76 and 77 to be commensurate with houses in adjacent
developments.
3. Gilbert Street frontage lots to be improved with buildings commensurate
with buildings across the!street.

IENTAYIVE MAP, /RACY NO,, ~468: Roselyon Corporation. Located at the northwest
corner of Ball Road. and Gilbert Street. 101 lots.
The City Planning Commission approved said tentative map, subject to:
1. Annexation Qf the territory.
2. Dedication of street right-of-way making Ball Road 100 feet in Width.
3. Engineering requirements.
On motion by CoUncilman Van Wagoner, seconded by Councilman Wisser, said
Tentative Map of Tract No 2468 was approved, subject to conditions as outlined
by the City Planning Commission and the completion of annexation proceedings.
MOTION CARRIED.
TENTATIVE MAP, TRACT NO. 2451: Joseph Martin. Located south of Crescent Avenue
beginning approximately 990 feet east of Magnolia Avenue.. 2~ lots. '
The City Planning Commission approved said Tentative Map, subject to
the annexation of the territory.
· The City CounciL, on motion by Councilman Van Wagoner, seconded by
Councilman Wisser~ approved said Tentative Map,.subject to recommendations
the City Planning Commission and further the addition of 1/2 baths and the increase
of the house sizes to 1,140 square feet. MOTION CARRIED.

Officer authorized to look into the possibility of another location.

County National Bank and Trust Company of Santa Barbara~ which represents the
second Purchase Order issued to the Safety Striping Service was approved by the
City Council on motion by!Councilman Van Wagoner, seconded by Councilman Wisser.
