Mro Adams ad~ressed the Council, explaining they intended to
construct industrial b~ildings on the property similar to those at 1859 and
1945 Manchester Avenueoi
Mr° and Mrs° Boorey~ owner of trailer park at 13431 Simmons
Avenue, addressed the ~ouncil, objecting to the unrestricted M-i~ as
they felt certain M-1 Uses would interfer with the residents of the
trailer parko
Mr. Wo Jo Martin, realtor and seller of the property, called
attention to the alread~ existing M-1 uses in the immediate vicinity°
The Mayor asked if anyone else wished to address the CoUncil,
there being no response, declared the hearing closed°
Councilman COons felt that if any change is to be made to this
zoning, because of the Droximity to residential development, a precise
plan of development, snowing walls and landscaping should be presented,
and that a list of acceptable uses should be worked out very carefully.
.He thereupon moved that action by the City Council be postponed two
.weeks (~%~ 22, 1960), and that the previous list of acceptable uses
worked out for that trilangular area between Placentia Avenue and the
Riverside Freeway, be oibtained to determine if these uses could apply

landscaping and the construction of the wall as recommended by the City

moved for its passage and adoption, authorizing the preparation of
necessary ordinance, changin9 the zone as requested, subject to the
recommendations of the City Planning Commission, with the exception of
Condition Nco 3, which is to belamended to read as follows, "establishment

The Mayor asked if anyone wished to address the Council.
Mr. Rach, representing the Applicant, addressed the Council,
and explained that the property on which rezonin9 was requested, was not
at the corner of Gilbert and Lilncoln, that it was located approximately
200 feet east of Gilbert Street, having a frontage of 130 feet on-Lincoln
Avenue, and a depth of 679 feet°
Ntt. Polhman, owner of the property to the east, was present,
requesting clarification of the area to be rezonedo
Mr. Bernard Weissner, 125 N° Gilbert Street, was concerned with
the planned use of the land~ and was of the opinion that the C-3 zoning
had been requested for the entire parcel of property° He stated if only
the easterly 130 feet of the property is involved, he would withdraw his
protest.
Mr. Howard, 109 So. Gilbert Street, also requested clarification
of the exact area to be rezoned~ and clarification of the use~ that of
restaurant and motel.

report from the TrafficI
pertinent factors regarding truck traffic on Magnolia Avenue, resulting
in the recommendation that no change he made in the present routing of
trucks at this time°
Considerable ~iscussion was held in an effort to determine a
solution to this problem, at the conclusion of which, Councilman Coons
moved that the City Manager and other pertinent departments, explore the
diversion of truck traffic to another alternate route, with~the
neighboring cities and ~ther governmental agencies involved'to see if
this heavy traffic situation can be relieved on Magnolia Avenue, and
that a report of progress he submitted at the first meeting in December.
Councilman Fry seconded the motion° MOTION CARRIED.
Mrs. Mary Docken addressed the Council requesting that their
request for speed Teduc~ion, also be considered°
She was advised that the speed would be checked and a report
obtained as soon as possible, to determine if a reduction in speed can
be made°
