PUBLIC HEARINGs STANTON AVEN~E ANNEXATIONs Public Hearing on the proposed annexa- tion to the City of Anaheim of territory known and designated as the Stanton Avenue Annexation was continued from the meeting of December 27, 1955 to allow the required additional ten days for the filing of supplemental protests to said annexation~ Mrs. B. A. Swanwick was requested to take the proceedings down in short- hand and make a transcript thereof to be filed with the City Clerk and made a part of the record. The City Clerk reported that additional protests to the proposed annexa- tion had been filed by the owners of seven parcels of property~ totaling $41160:00! resulting in a Grand total of: $7,680.00 assessed valuation of the land of persons protesting the inclusion of their properties in the proposed annexation. The total assessed valuation of the area proposed for annexation is $211,400.00. Mayor Pearson asked if anyone in the audience wished to address the Council~ however, there was nO response. Councilman Van Wagoner moved the public hearing be closed. Councilman Fry seconded the motion. NDTiON CARRIED. Councilman Schutte moved that the City Council find that the total number of protests filed were less than fifty per cent of the assessed valuation of the land proposed for annexation. PUBLIC HEARINGI WF~T ANAHEIM ANNEXATIO~ ~O. 2, Public Hearing on the proposed annexation to the City of Anaheim of territory known and designated a~ the West Anaheim Annexation No. 2 was continued ~rom the meeting of December 27, 1~55 to allow the required additional ten days for the filing of supplemental protests to said annexation. Mrs. B. A. Swanwick was requested to take the proceedings down in short- hand and make a transcript thereof to he filed with the City Clerk and made a Part of the record. The City Clerk reported that additional protests to the proposed annexa- tion had been filed, and that if all thO~e persons protesting were legal owners of the land, the additional protests wo~ld affect twelve parcels. These protests together with the protests filed at the meeting held December 27 1~55 tota! $10,B70.00. This amount includes the Cent~alia School District I$~,200.00) The t~tal assessed valuation of the area in the proposed annexation, excluding the school property, is $222,230.00, and including the school property, the total is $225,430.00. Ten of the additional protests were ~iled in petition fo~m as "registered voters" and not as owners of the landl however, seven of the protest- ants appear to he owners of the property according to the last equalized assessment roll and three protestants do not appear on the last equalized assessment roll. The identification of the parcels involved was made through street addresses. William U. and Shirley R. Al,and, Wilton and Ruth Ahplanalp, and'.M~s. Gabriel Patin, owners of property at the extreme west end of the propOsed annexa- tion', requested the exclusion of their properties as prior arrangements development had been made and public utilities already contracted. Communication from Park Village Homes, signed by Paul L. ~ierce and Larry Ax,our, was submitted and read~ requesting an exclusion of approximately 20 acres west of Magnolia Avenue and soeth of Crescent Avenue due to undo financial burden and hardship imposed because of the long delay experienCed in attempting to get this area annexed to the City of Anaheim. The City Administrative Officer, Keith A. Murdoch, and the owners of property requesting exclusion adjourned to the office of the City Engineer to determine the exact area of the land to he excluded. Councilman Schutte moved the hearing be closed. Councilman Fry secoaded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. Councilman Wisser moved that the City Council find that the total assessed value of the property owned hy the persons filing w~ttten protests to the proposed annexation were not filed by owners of fifty per cent of the assessed valuation of the land. Councilman Fry seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. Rex Coons addressed the Council, calling attention to a portion of the Legal Notice which stated that the steel-deck grand stand would be constructed at the La Palma Park or other site as determined by the City, and he requested that the City Council take action to confirm the location of the work. ~ Councilman Van Wagoner moved that the steel-deck grand stand, if and when it is purchased and constructed, be placed at the La Palma Park. An appeal from action taken by the City Planning Commission was filed hy Lloyd Ac Mannes, Controller for the G. D. Buccola Investment Company, and public hearing ordered to he held. The Mayor asked if lanyone wished to address the Council on the matter. Kro Lloyd Ac Manned addressed the Council and presented an artist's con- ception of the proposed development as requested. A gentleman from t~e audience read a letter from the Adelaide Price P.T.A. opposing the granting o£ the ;.tvariance. Petitions containing 152 signatures of residents from Claredge Park Development opposing the gra~ting of the variance were submitted. An additional petition containing 5 signatures of residents on Westmont Drive and West North Street o~posing the granting of the variance was Submitted. A petition containing 21 signatures of residents on Euclid Avenue and Loara Street approving the granting of the variance was submitted.
