ACROSS CERRIYOS AVENUE: Application of the Southern Pacific Company for
permit to construct, maintain, and operate at qrade a spur track upon and
across Cerritos Avenue between LeWis Street an~ Placentia Avenue in the City of
Anaheim, together with proposed resolution authorizing the granting of the
permit for Fifty years, was submitted and ordered held over for further study
and consideration
BALL-DALE ANNEXATION: Petitions requesting annexation of inhabited territory
known and designated as the Ball-Dale Annexation, were referred to the City
Clerk for checking on motion by Councilman Coons, seconded by Councilman $chutte.

BUSINESS LICENSE: Application of Orange~County Amusement Company~ submitted by
Stanley B. Smith and Charles Leopold for the operation of pinball machines in
the City of Anaheim, was submitted and read. Chief of Police~ Mark A. Stephenson
advised, that no fingerprints had been taken of Mr. Leopold, however a sworn
statement was made before a Notary Public~ Lt. Russell E. Hamlyn~ that neither
he nor Mr. Leopold had ever been arrested for any offense and thereupon
recommended that a business license be granted for the remainder of the business
year, ending June 30, 1956.
In view of the fact that the machines have been operating for ten
mon{hs~ and a business license is due and owing the City of Anaheim~ Councilman
Coons, moved that the business license be granted and the necessary fees collected,
and further recommended that the City Attorney, draft an ordinance banning the
use and possession of the machines within the City of Anaheim, Councilman
Schutte, seconded the motion. MO/ION CARRIED.
