NDTION GAMRIED. BIDS RECEIVED Bid received from the Pittsburg-Des Moines Steel Company, .for the construction of said Grand Stand, at the net sum of $138,560.00. Sazd constr- uction to be completed on or before September 15~ 1956. Bids were referred to the City Engineer and City Administrative Officer for report, on motion by Councilman Wisser, seconded by Councilman Coons. MOTION CARRIED. After checking the PittSburg-Des Moines Steel Company bid, the City Administrative Officer, Keith A. ~urdoch, recommended a acceptance of said bid subject to the approval of the bid bond by the City Attorney. PUBLIC ~L~r~im6-: ROt]SE MOV?~G PERMIT~ Public Hearing was held on an application filed by Forest Wolverton, for permission to move a single family dwelling, presently located at the Southwest corner of Orangethorpe Avenue and North East Street to 1765 Orange Avenue. -Protest to the moving in of the house was filed by Mr. James Agrusa, 1702 West 85th Street, Los Angeles, owner of the property West of the proposed location on 'which the house is to be moved. A petition containing 14 signatures of owners of property in the immedeate vicinity urging the granting of the house moving permit was submitted and read.~ The Mayor asked if anyone wished to address the Council on the matter. Mr. Wolverton addressed the Council and presented a picture of the house to be moved together with a map of the area indicating those owners of property favoring and opposing the granting of the house moving permit. Further discussion was held with reference to the future widening of Orange Avenue, and Mr. Wolverton agreet to make the necessary dedication of land for this improvement. closed. There being no further discussion, the Mayor declared the Hearing Councilman Schutte moved that the City Council allow the moving of the house~ as requested~ and that a House Moving Permit be issued subject to engineering-requirements. Councilman Fry seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. PUBLIC HEARtNG,~ VARIANCH NO. 528..' Submitted by .Embree Hours for permission to use the area over the present garage, located at 401 West North Street, for an apartment. -The City Planning Commission pursuant to their Resolution No. 156 granted said variance. _ Appeal from action taken by the City Planning Commission was filed by A. L. Ragmond and Public Hearing ordered held. Ihe Mayor asked if anyone wished to address the Council on the matter. Ihose addressing the Council in opposition to the granting of the variance were, Mrs. Isabel Sympson~ 325 Park Way~ and Mr. A. L. Raymond~ 805 North Helena Street. -Those addressing the Council urging the granting of the variance' were, Mr. Houts~ ·applicant and Mr. Julius A. Ieske, 808 N. Helena Street. · . Petition containing eight signatures approving the granting of'the' variance and a 'petition containing twenty signatures opposing the grantir~g of the variance were submitted and read. REQUEST TO NDVF POWER POLE: C~n~nunlcatlon from the La Dona Beauty Salon request- lng removal of a power pole in front of their business located at 12~ South L~mon Street was submitted. Mr. Oelkers, Superintendent of Light., Power and Water, pr~.sented a plot of the area with reference to the located of the pole, and stated that the pole was jointly owned by the City of Anaheim and the Telephone Company and further for maintenance reasons, recommended the pole not be moved at this time. Discussion of this p~oblem was held by the City Council, and taking into consideration the interest of both individuals and the city at large~ it was feld that the moving of the pole could not be justified at this time.
