It was determined that there were more than 40 parcels ot land in the territory proposed
for annexation.
Mr. Flynn addressed the Cou.cil stating his opposition to the proposed annexation, that
it would adversely affect his property, increase his. taxes probably 2~; may affe~t the
salability of his home, and the rezoning the property in the district was also a con-
sideration, ana. that it-may materially affect th~se oPPosing the annexati~n as to the
:lse of their property.
Howard Pannier addressed the Council protesting the inclusion of the ;) acre. owned by
the Pannier family; that he had protested the move for annexation with the Anaheim
Chamber of Commerce, the Ci1y Administrative Officer and various City Officials, in
addition to the written pro~e8t on file.
Art Hull addressed the Council. He has a poultry yard in the territor7t and stated that
this annexation should be eatered in a careful maaner so that no one maYlget hurt. Further
that he saw the ~oint Mr. Flynn took. He had no particular opposition to the annexation,
otherwise.
Ed. Hund.addressed the Coun<:11, stating that he had been waiting about four yearA, and he
~ong many others in his district were badly in need of water, and that th~ shortage was
very acute in the district. d
Mr. M8.ug spoke for the annexation.
Later in the evening, Mr. Moeller of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce addressed the Council
stating that the Chamber strongly favors the proposed annexation and ~onsiders it dis-
tinctly to the advantage of all property owners in the territory; furthert that the cit7
must progress, and according to their canvass of the district, more than 75~ wanted in;
and further, that the majority must have_~ater~_ and ve~ soon.
The matter of annexa.tion was held over for further discussion by the City Council.
AFTER FtJRTHER DISC1JSSION: Members of the City Council determined that there were not
sufficient protests entered representing parcels of land or residents in the territory,
and therefore Councilman Boney offered Resolution No. 1985 and moved for i;ts :paeBage aad
adoption. Councilman Heying seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED.

Houston Street Annexation.
It was moved by Councilman Van Wagonert seconded by Councilman Wisser that
the request of the proponent property owners to start proceedings for annexation of
territory to be known as the Houston Street ~xation be approved by the City Council
and proponents were instructed to make application to the Orange County Boundary
Commisaion for re~ort to the proponent, by the Boundary CommisBion of the County with
respect to the definiteness and certa1>>.ty of the proposed boundaries, and further the
Council ordered the matter referred' to the Ci t~y PlanE.ing Commission for their
recommendation. MOTION CARRIED.
