A RESOLUTIOt OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING RE OLUTION NO. 63R-9l0 AND SUPERSEDING RESOLU-
TION NO. 69 -610, AMENDING PERSONNEL RULE NO. 15 HOLIDAYS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that
Personnel Rule No. l51Holidays is hereby amended to read as follows:
RULE 15. HOLIDAYS
Section 15.0 The fo~lowing days shall be recognized as holidays; and
regular, full-time emfloyees in the classified service, with the exception
of employees in those I job classes listed in Section 15.3, shall have
these holidays off with pay:
January 1st. New Year's Day
February 12' Lincoln's Birthday
February 22 Washington's Birthday
Four hours n Good Friday
May 30th, M morial Day
July 4th, I dependence Day
First Monda in September, Labor Day
September 9 h, Admission Day
November 11 h, Veteran's Day
Thanksgivin Day
Friday afte Thanksgiving Day
December 25 h, Christmas Day
Every day d signated by the City Council for a public
feast, t anksgiving, or holiday.
Section 15.1 The Ci~y Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk and City Treasurer
shall also be given tije above holidays off with pay.
Section 15.2 In theievent that any of the above holidays falls on an em-
ployee's scheduled day off, an alternate work day shall be observed in lieu
of the holiday as fol\ows:
15.21 Field ~ork forces shall observe the following scheduled work
day in ,lieu of the holiday.
15.22 Officeiand Inspection work forces shall observe the preceding
work djY or the following work day in lieu of the holiday as
schedu ed by the department head to provide maximum regular
servic to the public.
Section 15.3 Certai~ designated employees may be required to work on any
of the above holidays lor days observed in lieu of those holidays. Any em-
ployee required to wo~k on any of the above holidays or days observed in
lieu of those holiday~ shall receive additional compensation equivalent to
one-and-one-half time~ his regular rate of pay. Employees in the following
job classes and the jqb classes exempt from overtime provisions of RULE 6,
PREMIUM PAY, shall be exempt from the provisions of this Section:

Policewoman
Fire Battal~on Chief
Fire Captaitt
Fire Engine~r
Fireman
Polygraph E~aminer

Section 15.4 An emp~oyee in any of the Police Department job classes
listed in Section l5.~ shall receive an additional eight (8) hours pay
at his regular rate of compensation for each holiday listed in Section
15.0, providing said 4mployee works on the holiday or day observed in
lieu of the holiday.
15.41 An emp~oyee in any of the Police Department job classes
listedlin Section 15.3 shall receive an additional four
(4) ho~rs pay at his regular rate of compensation fo. r
Good F~iday. .
Section 15.5 An emp\oyee in any of the Fire Department job classes
listed in Section l5.j shall receive additional compensation equivalent
to 1/10 of his regula~ biweekly compensation of each holiday listed in
Section 15.0. Fire B4ttalion Chief (Fire Prevention), Fire Captain
(Training) and the As~istant Fire Chief shall receive additional com-
pensation at their re~ular rates of compensation, with the approval of
the City Manager, for iwork performed during their regularly scheduled working
hours on any of the hqlidays listed in Section 15.0, or on any day observed
in lieu of any of the iholidays listed in Section 15.0.
15.51 An emp~oyee in any of the Fire Department job classes
listed lin Section 15.3 shall receive additional com-
pensat~on equivalent to 1/20 of his regular biweekly
compen~ation for Good Friday.
Section 15.6 In ord~r to be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must
be either at work or n paid leave of absence on the regularly scheduled
work day immediately receding the holiday or day observed in lieu of
the holiday and the r~gularly scheduled work day immediately following
the holiday or day ob~erved in lieu of the holiday. No employee who is
on suspension or unpa~d leave of absence on either the regularly scheduled
work day immediately ~receding or immediately following the holiday or
day observed in lieu qf the holiday shall receive compensation for said
holiday or day observ~ in lieu of the holiday.
BE IT FURTHSR RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution
shall be October 9, 1970.
