70R-454 RESOLUTION NO. 70R-454 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED UP TO THE HOUR OF 2:00 P.M. on the 10th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1970, FOR A PUBLIC If1PROVEMENT, TO WIT: FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION OF SPEED CONTROL SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTION OF HARBOR BOULEV~ AND LINCOLN AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, WORK ORDER NO. 567-A. WHEREAS', heretofore, to wit, on the 18th day of August, 1970, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolution No. 70R-414, finding and determining that public convenience and necessity required the construction and comple- tion of a public improvement consisting of the fabrication and installation of speed control signs at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, and appur- tenant work as more particularly set forth in the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer, Work Order No. 567-A; and WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water and performing all work necessary to construct and complete said public improvement and fixing the 10th day of September, 1970, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as ~he date and hour for the opening of said bids in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, upon said 10th day of September, 1970, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and City Engineer did open the bid received up to that hour, in public, in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and the City Engineer did review the bid so received and did report the result thereof to the City Council at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of September, 1970; and I~EREAS, the City Council finds that the bid received is in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer of the cost of said public improvement and is not representative of actual construction costs; that said bid should be rejected. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the bid received up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on September 10, 1970, reviewed by the City Engineer, and submitted to the Council on September 15, 1970, for the fabrication and installation of speed control signs at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, and appurtenant work as more particularly set forth in the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer, Work Order No. 567-A, be and the same is hereby rejected.
