A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AND THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION,
GENERAL EMPLOYEES AND CLERICAL EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director met and conferred with officials and
employee representatives of the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association to discuss specific
concerns relative to labor market inequities; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, a Letter of Understanding dated November 17, 1998
between the parties has been prepared and signed; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Employees and
Clerical Employees are in agreement with the recommendations contained in said Letter of
Understanding; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best interest
of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
that the Letter of Understanding dated November 17, 1998 between the Anaheim Municipal
Employees Association, General Employees and Clerical Employees, and the City of Anaheim, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is hereby approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim this 1 ~t day of December, 1998.

LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
between the
ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION
GENERAL EMPLOYEES and CLERICAL EMPLOYEES
and the
CITY OF ANAHEIM
The Anaheim Municipal Employees Association (AMEA), General and Clerical
Employees, and the City of Anaheim (ANAHEIM), after meeting and conferring, have reached
an understanding regarding labor market inequities, as follows:
The Parties agree to separate the salary adjustments provided to the classes of Police
Dispatcher I, Police Dispatcher II, Senior Police Dispatcher, Police Communications
Operator and Police Communications Supervisor from the salary adjustments offered to
other AMEA represented classes pursuant to Appendix "A" Wages of the General and
Cledcal MOU's between the City of Anaheim and the AMEA. This separation shall be
effective through and including September 28, 2000.
The CITY and AMEA agree to maintain an open line of communication to facilitate
implementation of this Agreement. Any issue conceming this agreement may be
discussed by AMEA or CITY at either party's request under the provisions of Article 11,
Discussion of the Memorandum of Understanding.
The CITY and AMEA agree that any alleged violation of this Agreement or any dispute as
to its value shall be considered to be a matter subject to review through the grievance
procedure and settled in accordance with the provisions of Article 49, Grievance General of
the Memorandum of Understanding.
