RESOLUTION NO. 69R- 710
A RESOLU:IION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE
PREVAILI G RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR EACH
CRAFT, 0 TYPE OF WORKMAN, OR MECHANIC NEEDED
FOR PUBL C WORKS CONTRACTS, IN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS,jthe City Council of the City of Anaheim does
find and determinejthat public convenience and necessity require
the acquisition ofimaterials, plant, labor and services for
public works proje~ts in the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS,! Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State
of California requ~res that the City Council ascertain and
determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates
for legal holidays I and overtime work on public works and improve-
ments in the local~ty in which the work is to be performed, for
each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for
the execution of s~ch public works contracts and the making of
such public improv~ents, and for the furnishing of all plant,
labor, services, m~terials and equipment and performing all work
necessary for the execution and completion of said public works
contracts or improvements.
NOW, THE~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anahei~ that, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 1770 of t~ Labor Code of the State of California, the
City Council has a~certained and does hereby determine the
general prevailing! rate of hourly wages, and rates for legal
holidays and overt~me work on public works and improvements in
the City of Anahe~, in the locality in which such work is to be
performed, for eac~ craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic
needed for the eXePution of public works contracts, and that
said prevailing r~es so determined are as follows:

Plus fringe labor posts as set forth in the Southern California
Master Labor Agree~ent of October, 1969.
Health and Welfarei payments shall be made in accordance with the
Southern Californi~ Master Labor Agreement.
All for:ten, unless separately classified, shall be paid
as provided in the October, 1969 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A.,
H.B.I., E.G.C.A., .F.L.-C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor
Agreement.
Apprenti~es may be employed in conformity with Section
1777.5 of the Cali~ornia Labor Code.
The rate~ of per diem wages for each of the various
classifications oflwork shall be the hereinbefore set forth
prevailing rates o~ hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours
shall constitute al day's work, it being understood that in the
event that workmen I are employed less than eight hours per day,
the per diem wage ~hall be that fraction of the per diem wage
herein established that the number of hours of employment bears
to eight hours.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and
hOliday work shall I be in accordance with the following: Where a
single shift is wo~ked, eight hours of continuous employment,
except for lunch p~riods, shall constitute a day's work beginning
on Monday and cont~nuing through Friday each week. Where work
is required in exc~ss of eight hours in anyone day or during the
interval of time ftom 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock
midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate
of one and one-hal~ times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays
and holidays such ~ork shall be paid for at the minimum rate of
double the basic r~te of wages, except as otherwise provided in
the October, 1969 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A.,
A,F,L.-C.I.O. Sout~ern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be
New Year's Day, De~oration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Veterans' Day, Tha~ksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the
above-mentioned ho~idays, other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving
Day, falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered
a legal hOliday.

It shall:be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the
contract is awarde4 and upon any subcontractor under him to pay
not less than the ~aid specified rates of wages to all laborers,
workmen, and mechaqics employed by them in the execution of the
contract.
