RESOLUTION NO. 69R- 639
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AU~HORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN
CITY RECORDS MORE THAN FIVE (5) YEARS OLD.
WHEREAS, the Government Code of the State of California
authorizes the destr~ction of certain records of the City upon
approval of the legislative body of the City, and with the written
consent of the City Attorney, provided that said records do
not fall within certain specified categories~ and
WHEREAS, the following described documents in the pos-
session of the Anaheim Police Department of the City of Anaheim
have been preserved on microfilm pursuant to Sections 1920 and
1923 of the California Code of Civil Procedure; and
WHEREAS, many of the documents in the following list
were prepared on a date at least five years prior to the date of
this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned documents of an age of at
least five years, as well as documents of an age of less than
five years, are occQPying space sorely needed by the Police
Department of the city of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police of the City of Anaheim has
determined that none of the aforementioned documents, regardless
of age, has sufficient value to justify retention in its original
form; and
WHEREAS, the manner in which the aforementioned documents
are filed makes immediate identification of the following described
documents difficult to describe by date ,of preparation; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim
does hereby give his written consent for the destruction of
the following documents:
DR 75301 dated October 10, 1963 through DR 94060 dated
October 18, 1964. (These files consist of reports per-
taining to Accidents, Crimes and miscellaneous Incidents.)
Arrest Reports #6953 dated June 4, 1957 through #19250
dated October 25, 1964. (These files consist of arrest
reports for all persons arrested during the period June 4,
1957 through October 25, 1964 and not re-arrested since
October 25, 1964.)
Drivers' Reports of Non-Injury Traffic Accidents dated
from January 1, 1962 through December 31, 1963. (These
files consist of reports made voluntarily by citizens
involved as drivers in traffic accidents.)
Anaheim Police Department Daily Bulletins dated from
January 1, 1962 through June 30, 1964. (These bulletins
contain in chronological order brief notations concerning
the incidents handled by each shift of Operations Division
personnel.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police
of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby authorized to
destroy immediately all of the following described documents
the date of preparation of which is prior to July 1, 1964,
and to destroy any of the follmqing documents the date of preparation
of which is later than July 1, 1964, at such future time
as corresponds to a date five years from the date of
preparation of said document which date is subsequent
to July 1, 1964.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper official
of the City having custody of the above-designated records
shall cause said records to be destroyed in a lawful manner;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction of the
foregoing records, a certificate of destruction shall be
executed and the original thereof filed in the Office of
the City Clerk, together with a copy of this resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed
by me this 4th day of November , 1969.
