A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 63R-9l0 AND SUPERSEDING RESOLUTION
NO. 68R-429 ~NDING PERSONNEL RULE #15 HOLIDAYS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF ANAHEIM
that Personnel Rule #15 Holidays is hereby amended to read as follows:
RULE 15. HOLIDAYS
Section 15.0 The foll~wing days shall be recognized as holidays;
and regular, full-time employees in the classified service, with
the exception of employees in those job classes listed in Section
15.3, shall have these holidays off with pay:
January 1st, New Year's Day
February 12, Lincoln's Birthday
February 22, Washington's Birthday
May 30th, Memorial Day
July 4th, Independence Day
First Monday ln September, Labor Day
September 9th. Admission Day
November 11, Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Friday after Thanksgiving Day
December 25th. Christmas Day
Every day deslgnated by the City Council for a public feast,
thanksg~ving, or holiday.
Section 15.1 The City Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk, and City
Treasurer shall also be given the above holidays off with pay.
Section 15.2 In the e~ent that any of the above holidays fall on
an employee's scheduled day off, the following scheduled work day
shall be observed in lieu of the holiday.
Section 15.3 Certain designated employees may be required to work
on any of the above holidays or days observed in lieu of those holi-
days. Any employee required to work on any of the above holidays
or days observed in lieu of those holidays shall receive additional
compensation equivalent to one-and-one-half times his reguar rate
of pay. Employees in the following job classes and the job classes
exempt from overtime provisions of RULE 6, PREMIUM PAY, shall be
exempt from the provisions of this Section:
Police Sergeant
Police Patrolman
Policewoman
Fire Battalion Chief (assigned to suppression)
Fire Captain
Fire Engineer
Fireman
Polygraph Examiner

Section 15.4 An employee in any of the Police Department job classes
listed in Section 15.3 shall receive an additional eight (8) hours
pay at his regular rat~ of compensation for each holiday listed in
Section 15.0

Section 15.5 An employee in any of the Fire Department job classes
listed in Section 15.3 shall receive additional compensation equiv-
alent to 1/10 of his regular biweekly compensation of each holiday
listed in Section 15.0. Fire Battalion Chief (Fire Prevention), Fire
Captain (Training) and the Assistant Fire Chief shall receive additional
compensation at their regular rates of compensation, with the approval
of the City Manager, for work performed during their regularly scheduled
working hours on any of the holidays listed in Section 15.0, on any
day observed in lieu of any of the holidays listed in Section 15.0, and
on Good Friday between the hours of 12:00 noon and 5:00 P.M.
Section 15.6 In order to be eligible for holiday pay, an employee
must be either at work or on paid leave of absence on the regularly
scheduled work day immediately preceding the holiday or day observed
in lieu of the holiday and the regularly scheduled work day immediately
following the holiday or day observed in lieu of the holiday. No employee
who is on suspension or unpaid leave of absence on either the regularly
scheduled work day immediately preceding or immediately following the
holiday or day observed in lieu of the holiday shall receive compensation
for said holiday or day observed in lieu of the holiday.
Section 15.7 Good Friday, from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M., shall be
recognized as a holiday for all regular, full-time employees in the
classified service, the City Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk, and
City Treasurer.
15.71 Regular, full-time employees in the classified
service, with the exception of employees in those
job classes listed in Section 6.04 and Section 15.3,
shall teceive additional compensation equivalent to
one-and-one-ha1f times their regular rates of pay for
any required work performed on Good Friday between
the ho~rs 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.
15.72 An employee in any of the Police Department job
classes listed in Section 15.3 shall receive an
additional four (4) hours pay at his regular rate
of compensation for Good Friday.
15.73 An employee of any of the Fire Department job classes
listed in Section 15.3 shall receive additional compen-
sation equivalent to 1/20 of his regular biweekly comp-
ensation for Good Friday.
15.74 In the event that any part of the above holiday falls on
an employee's scheduled time off, such time up to four
(4) hours of the following scheduled work of such
employee shall be observed in lieu of the above holiday.
Any employee, with the exception of employees in those-
job classes listed in Section 15.3 and exempted under
Section 6.04, shall receive additional compensation equivalent
to one-and-one-half times his regular rate of pay for any
required work performed during the hours observed in lieu
of the above holiday.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this
Resolution shall be October 10, 1969.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me this
