A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM INITIATING ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS
FOR LAKEVIEW-ORANGETHORPE NO. 6 ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND FIXING A TIME,
DATE AND PLACE OF HEARING OF SAID PROPOSED
ANNEXATION PURSUANT TO SECTION 35220 OF THE
GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, a resolution for the proposed annexation desig-
nated Lakeview-Orangethorpe No. 6 Annexation to the City of
Anaheim in the County of Orange was heretofore filed by the Ci ty
of Anaheim and accepted for filing on April 18, 1983, by the
Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission pursu-
ant to Part 2 of Title 4, Division 2, commencing with Section
35000 et seq. of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the distinctive short form designation assigned
by the Commiss ion to the ter r i tory proposed to be annexed is:
LAKEVIEW-ORANGETHORPE NO. 6 ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to the
City of Anaheim consists of approximately 20 acres of land in the
County of Orange, and the exterior boundaries thereof are specifi-
cally descr ibed in the legal descr iption attached hereto, marked
Exhibit "A," and by this reference made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the Commission has heretofore determined in its
Resolution No. 83-37, adopted on May 11, 1983, that the territory
proposed to be annexed is uninhabited; and
WHEREAS, the reasons for the proposed annexation to the
City of Anaheim as set forth in the proposal thereof submitted to
the Commission by the City of Anaheim are to provide full munici-
pal services to an unincorporated area in an efficient and econom-
ical manner and to incorporate three county islands wi thin the
corporate boundaries of the City of Anaheim.

3. Any election called upon the question of confirming an
order for annexation shall be called, held and conducted upon
such annexation only within the territory ordered to be annexed.
4. The City of Anaheim shall initiate proceedings to de-
tach Assessors Parcels 343-351-58 and 343-351-59 from the Yorba
Linda County Water Distr ict, and Assessor s Parcels 343-351.- 58,
343-351-59 and 343-351-60 from the Yorba Linda Library District.
Said detachment proceedings shall be initiated prior to the rec-
ordation of the certificate of completion of the subject
annexa t ion~
5. The City of Anaheim, as applicant, shall be liable for
and pay all proper expenses incurred in conducting proceedings
for the annexation in compliance with said resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Anaheim does hereby initiate proceed-
ings pursuant to Section 35220 of the Government Code for the
annexation of the hereinabove described territory to the City of
Anaheim.
2. That July 26, 1983, at the hour of 1:30 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the Anaheim Civic Center, 200 South Anaheim,
California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where
the City Council will hear and resolve any oral and written pro-
tests, objections, or evidence which shall be made, presented or
filed relating to said proposed annexation.
3. That any owner of land within the territory proposed to
be annexed may file a written protest against the annexation with
the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at any time prior to the
conclusion of the City Council's hearing on the proposed annexa-
tion. Each protest shall state the name and address of the owner
of the land affected and the street address or other description
sufficient to identify the location of such land. Protests may
be made on behalf of an owner by an agent authorized in writing
by the owner to act as agent with respect to such land. Protests
may be made on behalf of a private corporation which is an owner
of land by any officer or employee of the corporation without
written authorization by the corporation to act as agent in mak-
ing such protest.
4. The City Clerk shall cause notice of the hearing on the
proposed annexation to be given as provided in Sections 35222 and
35223 of the Government Code of the State of California.
