RESOLUTION NO. 84R-172
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CITY RECORDS
MORE THAN TWO YEARS OLD.

WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of
California authorizes the destruction of certain records of the City upon
approval of the legislative body of the City, and with the written consent of
the City Attorney, provided that said records do not fall within certain
specified categories; and
WHEREAS, the following described documents in the possession of the
Anaheim Human Resources Department are more than two years old and are
documents which are authorized for destruction under the provisions of said
Section 34090 of the Government Code without making a copy thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director of the City of Anaheim has
determined that said documents are no longer needed or required; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the determination of the Human
Resources Director and finds the destruction of the records in the best
interests of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim does by the
approval of this resolution hereby give his written consent for the
destruction of the listed records.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the Human Resources Director of the City of Anaheim be, and he is
hereby, authorized to destroy immediately, in a lawful manner, the following
described documents under his charge without making any copies thereof, to wit:
I. Miscellaneous papers, records, documents and correspondence
from former full-time City employes who terminated prior to
January I, 1981 (excluding permanent history records,
original hire Personnel Action Forms, final termination
Personnel Action Forms, final termination notices to
P.E.R.S. which documents have been microfilmed for retention
pursuant to Government Code Section 34090.5);
2. Personnel test files and records contained therein dated
prior to January I, 1981.
3. Applicant files and records contained therein dated prior to
January 1, 1981; and
...............
4. Part-time employee personnel files for separations occurring
prior to January 1, 1981.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction of the foregoing
records, a certificate of destructions shall be executed and the original
thereof filed in the office of the City Clerk together with a copy of this
resolution.

THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 8th day of May.
